💛𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹💛

Angel came to us just before Christmas, as we managed to save her and her babies from a life of living wild without a home to call their own. Thankfully her babies are now ready to fly the nest, and Angel is ready for retirement from a life of loneliness. ❤️

Angel is an older girl, possibly ten years or more, but she is a calm, quiet girl that laps up the home comforts of a couch and a warm fire. We would love if Angel could find a new owner that can give her the retirement that she needs, and can restore her faith in humankind. She would also suit an older person, as she requires only short walks, and will need a secure garden for pottering around in the daytime.🩷

💜Happy update💜

Bailey (formerly Betty) was adopted after travelling to The States. She was a very shy girlie when she came in to our care but has been loving life in her new home. 💜

Her family says
'Greetings from Rhode Island USA. Bailey met her cousins at New Years.
She was amazing with the two pups.
Blessings for the new year.'

Pollyanna is a young Setter mix puppy who was found straying in Connemara over the Christmas period. She was all alone during what should be a happy and cheerful time of year. Thankfully, she was rescued and brought into the warmth and care of our kennels. As it turns out, Pollyanna has a sister called Rochelle who was straying at the same time. It was a heartwarming moment when they were joyfully reunited at the kennels. At the moment, both girls are a little shy. Pollyanna is the more reserved of the two. As Setter mixes, they’re lively, social, and intelligent dogs who will need plenty of exercise and enrichment to keep them happy. They are expected to grow to medium-large in size, so a secure garden is a must for their safety. While these sisters share a special bond, they will be rehomed separately to ensure they each receive the individual attention and care they deserve. 💛💛𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙧💛💛

Homer is a young AmStaff type boy, approximately 10months old. He arrived to us completely emaciated after experiencing horrendous physical abuse and neglect at the hands of his "owner".💔😔

Luckily for Homer there were multiple witnesses to one incident and he was brought to a vet where he was kept for a week and treated for his injuries, wounds and for the first time given regular meals of good quality food.🙏

In spite of his traumatic start in life he has the sweetest nature and is extremely gentle. He was an absolute star for the vets and for his foster mum when having his wounds checked and treated and took it all in his stride. 💙

As a youngster he can sometimes be a little over-enthusiastic with his greetings but he's working on this and is doing great. Homer is very food motivated and is eager to learn. He adores praise and has responded beautifully to positive training. Homer is now learning to be a pup as he missed out on a proper puppyhood in his previous "home". He has learned to play ball and loves going for walks. As a youngster he needs someone who will continue with his training and encourage him as he grows. Due to the stress of his trauma and also due to teething he had a habit of chewing furniture when he first got to his foster home but this has reduced significantly as he has decompressed and settled. 💛

Homer so deserves a proper home where he'll be shown the love he longed for as a young pup. He doesn't like to be left alone for too long so may suit someone who is home a lot. 🏡

Homer is classed as a restricted breed and there are certain legal responsibilities that his new owner must be aware of. He has just started his muzzle training and is a super boy.

🐾Restricted breeds and their crosses must be🐾:

-Kept on a lead less than 1 meter long
-Handled by a person aged over 16 years who is able to control them
-Muzzled when in a public place
-Wear a collar with the name and address of their owner at all times

Huge thanks to Phoenix Bark for an incredibly generous donation of their really high quality dog food which arrived to us!👏🌟

Their food is home cooked using high quality meat & offal. The daily portions are sustainably wrapped too.

They've been incredibly kind to us over the last few years and the dogs really love their food-it is so much more appetizing than processed dog food & really adds a little extra enjoyment to their day. 🍜👌

Kennel life can be tough on some dogs no matter how hard we try to keep them all healthy & happy so we really do appreciate the generosity of all at Phoenix Bark!🌟👏🐾

Charlotte had a lot of interest when we posted her first, but unfortunately, we were not clear on exactly the type of home that she needs. Charlotte was so frightened when she was dumped, that she had to be caught in the humane trap, and her emotional scars run deep. 💔
Thankfully she is only a youngster, and she is learning to trust humans again, but this will take time. She also relates much better to other dogs than to humans, and although she will walk on the lead, initially she will need another dog buddy to help her settle in.🐾
While she will eventually trust her new carers, she may always be afraid of new people and new situations, and we feel that a quiet, rural home might suit her best. Like a lot of fearful dogs Charlotte can be quite the watchdog, and will bark when startled, which can sometimes be handy if you live in a remote area. We are looking for someone that can give her the time to adjust, in a calm house with not a lot of visitors at first, plus a very secure garden. And very importantly, a canine buddy that she can rely on as she learns the ropes.❤️
