New Stockist✨ I instantly felt cooler walking into 😂 there is such a cool vibe in there and the coffee is delish. Not only do they stock coffee and wine but a whole host of deadly products from jewellery to cards to mugs to art to hats to chocolate to ice pops to nut butters to cosmetics … to my No Rinse Pet Shampoo.

🐣Happy Easter 🐣 Little reminder to keep your pet away from dangerous substances this Easter. Factor them in to your plans for the day. if you have to leave then on there own, leave plenty of entertainment for them. These accidents can happen so quickly and can be fatal unfortunately.

💙Jackson💙 This beautiful boy is a 1.5 year old bully cross looking for his forever home. He is currently in the care of the amazing team at and prior to this he was in the pound for quite some time 💔.
He would be well suited to an owner with experience of bulldogs and a house with no cats.
He loves walks and would make the perfect companion ❤️.

✨Rio✨ This beautiful boy is a 2.5 year old beagle whois looking for his forever home. He is gentle, fun loving and has a kind nature. He mixes well with other dogs, loves to play and is neutered.

He is indoor dog and loves nothing more than snuggling on the couch. He loves to run free so would need a home with a man encoded garden so he could do this safely. He would be best suited to a home with no children.

Bruno and Lassy are currently looking for their new forever home following the death of their owner 💔

They are being so well looked after by .

Bruno is an 8 year old springer, he is neutered and very gently.
Lassy is two and and a half, neutered snd sorry sweet and gentle.

They are looking to be rehomed together butn will have to be separated if a home for the two of them is not found.

💙Simba💙 is a 5 year old male German Shepard. Same old story, went into as a stray abs was never reclaimed 💔

He is the sweetest boy who is very loving and affectionate. He loves getting attention and can get a bit jealous when he is not receiving it 😂

He loves walks but can be strong on the lead. He does bark at other dogs while out and about so he will need some training for this.

He would be best to go to a home with adults only and preferably people who have experience with his breed.

✨Vet Nurse Nuggets✨ Bringing your newest family member home for the first time can be so exciting but it can be nerve-racking also. Here are a few things to think about when bringing your pet home. Every situation is different so this is a brief and general overview.

If your pet is extremely anxious or you have other animals at home, there will be additional things you can put in place to make everyone more comfortable.

Animals are no different to us in that they can find change tough. Putting things in place to help them settle and picking up on their behavioural cues will help them to gain trust in you and become comfortable in their new home 🏡

💙Riley💙

Riley arrived in as an astray and was never reclaimed 💔

He is a Labrador cross and is 5 years old.

He has lots of energy and he loves being out and about on walks. He can be a bit nervous of new situations (who isn’t) but comes around very quickly. He loves his walks but can be very strong on the lead.

Riley might be suitable to a home with another dog but it would depend on a meet and greet. He would be better suited to a home with older children (13+) who are used to dogs.

Riley has been in for quite a while and is getting stressed so 🤞🏻 he finds a loving home soon ❤️

✨Vet Nurse Nuggets✨

Right let’s start from step one! Getting a pet (of any kind) should be given a lot of thought as it is a huge decision.

I have seen it before when people think it would be lovely to have the company, will be an incentive to get out for walks and will be a lovely addition to the family. All of this is true of course but like any member of the family, pets need alot of care and attention and when people rush into a decision, without doing some research, it can end in a bad way for the animal.

Dogs and cats for example can be a 15 year commitment! If you have carefully thought about all of the things mentioned above, they will be 15 years filled with unconditional love and joy 🐶❤️

If you are in a position to rehome a dog, here are just a few of the many charities here in Ireland.

💙Steven💙

Steven is one of the longest residents at 💔 he went in as a stray and was never reclaimed.

He is a 13 month of doggo Argentino and is the friendliest boy! He loves cuddles and running and bouncing around the place. He has lots of energy!

He loves walks but is very strong on the lead so a bit of training would be beneficial in this area. He would be suited to a home whereby he has some company and one with another dog his size would be great.

He would also suit a home with children over the age of 14 due to his size and strength.

The amazing staff at are so fond of him and would absolutely love to see him leave shelter life behind him and find a loving home.

There is a possibility that Steven may be a bit deaf, all the more reason why he should be given the love he deserves.

💙Billy Ray💙
Billy Ray went into as a stray and was never reclaimed 💔

He is a beautiful German Shepard and is approximately 4 years old.

He is a little bit unsure of new people but with a little bit of time and trust he will be your best friend! He is very sweet and gentle. He is looking for somewhere he can get lots of love and he can rest on a lonely cosy bed ❤️

He loves going for walks and is great on the lead which is a huge bonus!

He would be best suited to a home with older children and would need to be the only dog in the home

German Shepards are fantastic dogs to train and Billy Ray is no exception. He loves treats which is a big bonus when training!

Happy Husky is spreading its wings once again all the way to one of the coolest coffee shops in Dublin; Two Pups.

The coffee is amazing, the food is out of this world and the people are so sound, what more could you want?

They have two locations one on Francis Street and one on Annesley Bridge Road in Fairview and I’ve wagged my way into both of them 🐶

If you are in either area I would definitely recommend a visit ☕️

🌀Weathering the storm with your furry friend🌀

Here are a few tips to keep in mind for anxious pets during bad weather;

1. Find a safe, cosy, warm spot for your pet to settle down in. This can be their bed or a completely different spot in the house. Let them make themselves comfortable and provide them with lots of bedding.

2. Playing background noise such as relaxing music, white noise or even just the radio can help to take away disguise the noise and settle them down.

3. Talking to them in a soothing tone can help to reassure them that they are safe and petting them gently can help them to relax also.

4. It can be very beneficial to create a positive association at times Iike these so offering toys or treats can be of benefit. It can also distract and soothe them.

5. Try to stay calm yourself as your pet will pick up an any anxiety that you may be having and it will heighten their state. Act as you normally would around them as this will comfort and reassure them.

Virgil is a 4 year old male Staffie Collie cross ❤️

He is a lovely playful boy who gets on great with other dogs (cats, not so much :)

He love going out for walks. He is strong on the lead but it just excited to be out so a bit of training would definitely help him with this.

He is great with kids, fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.

Poor Pippa is a 1 year old pocket bully suffering form hip dysplasia. She was brought into as a stray and was never reclaimed 💔

She is the friendliest little girl and loves meeting new people. She loves playtime and is very affectionate. She loves to cuddle and give kisses. She loves walks and is good on the lead

Due to her hip dysplasia, she would need an owner that is willing to look after her and give her pain medication on an ongoing basis.

She would be best in a home with no other dogs due to the pain she is in.

I am beyond proud to have my very own No Rinse Shampoo on sale at The Animal Hospital.

This is a such a special veterinary hospital to me and the whole team here have been so supportive. Not only is it on sale at reception but it is being used regularly on inpatients by the nurses to freshen them up after surgery or during nursing appointments.

There are so many benefits to using a no rinse shampoo on your pet, I could type for hours!

Waterless shampoo is designed to be used in between giving your pet a deeply cleansing bath shampoo and water. We want our pets to be clean but we can actually do more harm than good by bathing them too frequently. By doing this we are stripping the coat of it's natural oils and compromising the skin's barrier (a dog's skin is much thinner and more sensitive than ours)

Happy Husky no rinse shampoo is a gentle yet effective way to clean and deodorize your pet's coat (instead of just masking the smell with an overpowering scent)

Many dog's find bath time very stressful particularly if they are new to a home or are a bit on the older side. This is a quick and easy way to reduce stress, mess and fuss leaving more time for cuddles 🥰

Let me introduce myself 👋

My name is Emer, I am a veterinary nurse and the happy face behind Happy Husky 💙

Animals have always had a special place in my heart and I always felt drawn to caring for them from a young age. At the age of 30, I decided to leave my safe, secure administration job to return to college to study Veterinary Nursing.

I have seen first hand the love, compassion and trust between owners and their pets. This was the driving force behind Happy Husky; I wanted to use my experience to create products that will enhance the well being of pets whilst being safe, effective and cruelty free.

I also want to share my knowledge and experience with you all in the hope that you find it helpful in caring for your furry friends 🐶🐱
