What you need: Strawberries Greek/natural yoghurt or cottage cheese Knife Spoon Small treats (we used bits from dehydrated beef liver from @citylifepet ) How to make: Cut the green bits off and throw away Cut the other end off, but keep this end Scoop the middle of the strawberry out with the spoon Add your filler to the middle Pop the cut-off end back on as his hat Add treats for eyes Let your Little Woofer enjoy! There are some things in life we don't need to complicate and enrichment for our Little Woofers is one of them. You don't need to go out and buy loads of new (and possibly over priced and expensive) items to put onto your Little Woofers lick mat. Most people already have ready to use items in their own home already!! #keepitsimple I'm going to do a few quick and easy options over the next few weeks for the busy dog pawrents out there. This one is perfect for dogs that aren't lactose intolerant. You could swap the cows yoghurt for goats but this is all about keeping it easy and there will be more ideas coming for Little Woofers that can't have dairy. Today's is: Lick mat Spoon Small amount of Natural or Greek yoghurt, I would used 1 to 2 table spoons depending on the dogs size (make sure it is xylitol free) Then just spread the yoghurt onto the lick mat. You can freeze too, pop the lickimat with the yoghurt in the freezer for a few hours for longer duration but you can just give it as is for 5 minutes to enjoy that coffee yourself! 😊 Natural and Greek yoghurt have probiotics that can provide digestive benefits and a boost in their immune system. Check out our Beginners Scent Detection on their last day, over 6 weeks all dogs learned to find and indicate on a target scent. Handlers learned to watch and hone in on their Little Woofers body language so they knew when their dogs had found the correct scent! Keep your Little Woofer safe this Easter! Chocolate is toxic to dogs, it contains theobromine and some Caffeine. Dogs process theobromine and caffeine slowly, which allows these toxic compounds to build up in their systems and cause clinical signs associated with chocolate toxicity such as: Vomiting Diarrhea Restlessness Increased urination Tremors Elevated or abnormal heart rate Seizures Can cause death in severe cases If you suspect your Little Woofer has helped themselves to the Easter eggs call your vet! Raw eggs are a great alternative! Eggs are a great source of nutrition for your Little Woofer. They are high in protein, vitamins, and fatty acids that help support your dog inside and out. If you've been in training classes with us you'll remember us asking for your 'Win of the week'... Well, this week.. Here's ours! 🛑(Proud pawrent warning!) 🛑 Eve did her first track outside our garden and training field today. It was over 600m long and set amongst 30 or so acres. To say we had turned up the dial is an understatement! Whilst I had a rough idea of how her mom had traversed the field, I was left in awe of our Little Woofer!! Not only did she nail the track and find her Mom, but when I thought I was following footsteps and on course she pulled hard right along what I later verified with Mom was exactly the correct leg of the track. Lesson? Trust your dog! Even at the early stages of learning Eve is showing great promise in her abilities! Very excited to continue our learning together!! #trackingdog #dogtraining #proudparent
