A ban on XL bully dogs in Ireland is to be introduced later this year. The ban will be implemented in two phases between October 2024 and February 2025.

As an organisation committed to evidence-based dog training, behaviour, and welfare, we are concerned that evidence from various other jurisdictions raise significant doubts about the effectiveness of breed-specific bans.

TheJournal.ie reports that Hospital admissions from dog bites are on the rise in Ireland. So it begs the question ... ⁉️

How likely are you or someone in your family to get biten by a dog? Are bites from dogs fatal? You might have heard a lot on the news recently about dogs and breed specific legislation. Is there really an epidemic of dogs out of control in Ireland or is there something deeper going on behind these figures and are they as they appear?

Searching through old photos tonight and found this. This was the little sh*t that started it all! My very first dog Nipper with my beloved Gran. She would occasionally have a little bun or cake when sitting there, and he would sit up there beside her and bully her to share. 😂😂 she always gave in! He was the best boy and I miss them both terribly.
