Amazing news arrived from Germany 🇩🇪 !

Shannavarius Vogue Venera is crowned a German Youth Champion (DWZRV) taking her final points the past weekend with back-to-back JUNIOR BEST OF BREED and JUNIOR BEST IN SHOW-3 at the CAC Sighthound Club in Ostercappeln.

Thank you to the judges for thinking so highly of Annabell and to her owner, Sabine Brakowski, for her amazing work.
Big congratulations, Sabine! 💛✨

We were recently advised that due to Facebook & Meta Policy and Community Standards, pages containing the name "WhippetS" (plural) are targetted and either suspended or indefinitely removed.
The word "whippets" is no longer searchable, affecting many whippet-breed dedicated pages and groups. This is due to Facebook and Meta linking the word "whippets" with the type of drug, rather than a breed of dog.

For this reason and to not lose our page, we needed to make a minor change in the name, going from "Shannavarius Whippets" to "Shannavarius Whippet".

All our other socials including Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/shannavarius.whippets/) and website (www.shannavarius-whippets.com) are still under the same name.

In the last couple of weeks, we received several puppy inquiries. 🐾

At present, we have no puppies available and no breeding plans for 2024.
We may plan a litter for summer 2025 and/or fall/winter 2025.

All our puppy inquiries are subject to an online application that needs to be completed for us to consider you a future owner of one of our puppies. ✨ Delighted to have it finally in writing!

Wiggles can now add the title of Irish Junior Champion to her name gaining her last point at the Swords Championship Show back in June, where she also went Best of Breed and Group-3!

While everyone in Ireland was getting ready to take part in the annual Irish Munster Circuit that is taking place this weekend and next week, we decided to make a road trip to Germany for the Donaueschingen Sighthound Festival Speciality Show. 🇩🇪

We've only taken one dog with us - Wiggles - Shannavarius Villanelle Vana IrJCH and had so much fun on this adventure with our friends and their Maygar Agars.
Over 3000 km in the car, 4 countries and multiple stop-offs with memories made forever, although no major wins.

Nevertheless, I couldn't resist sharing these professional photos taken ringside of our Wiggles who took everything in her stride on her first big road trip. 💚

We are having some break from shows for the next couple of weeks, letting the dogs recharge, mature and enjoy the rest of the summer before returning to selected shows in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK.

Last Sunday we attended the Dun Laoghaire Canine Society All Breed Championship Show having an ultimate girls' day out as I've only taken Wiggles.

In the pouring rain just as the whippets stepped into the ring, Shannavarius Villanelle Vana won another junior class and picked up a Reserve Green Star/Reserve Best B itch against a champion under judge, Mrs Diane Stewart-Ritchie.

Wiggles has a great run on limited showing this year as she's holding one Green Star and three Reserves, obtaining her Irish Junior Champion title and going Best In Show Junior at the Whippet Club of Ireland earlier this year.

Way to go Wig! 🧡

Late to the party but we never shared Wiggles's great day at the Swords Championship Show two weeks ago.

Under Italian judge Mr Massimiliano Mannucci she finished her Irish Junior Champion title, and started her adult Champion title journey gaining her first Green Star / CAC / Best B itch, finally going BEST OF BREED! 😍 💚

Later in the day, she got BEST OF GROUP - 3 under our breed judge.

Way to go, Wiggles!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our V-puppies as they turn 1 year old today! 💕🥳

So many great memories of these special puppies, now living their best lives with their devoted owners. We couldn’t be more happy with their progress and we hope they will continue to live a happy, healthy forever, causing trouble and mischief for their owners. 🤭

We thank our puppy owners for being the best and taking such a good care of Pandora (S. Vespa Million Heiress) - living in the UK, Jack (S. Voodoo Elyx) - living in Kerry, Annabell (S. Vogue Venera) - living in Germany and Fiadh (S. Varsa Venturi) - living in Limerick.
Not forgetting our own Marcus and Wiggles - absolute double trouble - living at Shannavarius.

A super Sunday for the team as we attended the eye testing clinic organised by The Basset Club of Ireland with ophthalmology specialist Natasha Mitchell MVB DVOphthal MRCVS.

It was a busy few months with the team, and especially “puppies”, getting them out and about at some Open and Championship Shows.

Most recently we attended the Whippet Club of Ireland Championship Show, judged by Mrs Zorica Blomqvist from Sweden, with a total entry of 44 whippets, with absentees on the day.

Two weeks earlier, at the St. Patrick’s Championship Show, we were delighted as Wiggles & Marcus picked up their first points towards Irish Junior Champion titles, also qualifying for Crufts 2025 under Mr Ger Cox from Ireland.

The day earlier, at the Celtic Winner’s Championship Show, we gained a new INTERNATIONAL VETERAN CHAMPION as Fay gained her last point from judge Mr Unto Timonen from Finland.


At the end of January, both Wiggles and Marcus got some show training at the double Open Cocker Cluster.
Shannavarius Villanelle Vana • Wiggles took back-to-back BEST OF BREED under judge Mr Robert O’Neill in the morning CSCOI Show, and then under judge Mrs Ann McKeon Collins in the afternoon show.
She was also GROUP-3 and GROUP-4.

Not to forget her brother Marcus • Shannavarius Vesper Hill’s Manhattan who at the first show was BEST MALE and RESERVE BEST OF BREED under judge Mr Robert O’Neill, and Reserve Best Male at the second show under Mrs Ann McKeon Collins.
We had some more practice at both shows in the Puppy Stakes, with Marcus & Wiggles placing 2nd in Puppy Stakes Dog and Bitch respectively under judges Mrs Fonia Mace and Mrs Hilary Laverty.

Thank you to all the judges for appreciating our small team and we are looking forward to more fun in the ring in the weeks to come! 🐾 🇨🇮

Some great news to begin the New Year as we receive DNA results for our youngest crew! 🧬✨

We are delighted to report that both - Shannavarius Villanelle Vana & Shannavarius Vesper Hill's Manhattan - tested clear for breed-relative genetic health disorders.

It's important to highlight that not all 272 tests are specific for whippets in the MyDogDNA package, however, every dog tested contributes to their ongoing research and overall improvement of genetic knowledge in the whippet breed.

A long overdue website update has arrived, introducing our new kids on the block. 🐾

Our puppies had a very successful beginning of their show career in baby puppy class at both the Championship and Open Shows level.

Shannavarius Villanelle Vana had a fantastic start winning Best Baby Puppy In Breed and Best Baby Puppy In Show on her show debut at the open show in October. Last weekend at the CCC Christmas Open Show she was also chosen last BBPIB and got a lovely shortlist in the Best Baby Puppy In Show from over 25 baby puppies!

Shannavarius Vesper Hill's Manhattan, although needs a bit more confidence in the ring, has two Best Baby Puppy In Breed wins at the Championship level, with gaining Best Baby Puppy In Show-3 on two occasions at Bullbreeds and Cloghran Championship Shows.

I couldn't be more proud of these happy go lucky puppies. 🧡

They are sired by PL Ch, LT Ch, MK JCh Southpoint Kilian Foxpolis. The dam is Shannavarius Absolut Diva Americana.
