What can we even say? Massive Congratulations Lilou and Natalie 🎊 The first Irish Olympic Canine team 🇮🇪 Natalie is now Ireland's only Olympic Canine Trainer and still she doesn't promote herself, humble beyond belief! But us here at Lady May's K9 Kingdom are going to shout it louder for the people in the back !!👐
Lilou was a puppy farm dog, who was given to Natalie after her previous homes didn't work out due to behaviour issues. Lilou challenged Natalie every single step of the way, but Natalie could see the potential in Lilou and knew she had more to give. Natalie seeked advice from more experienced trainers, which led to major disappointment as methods being used weren't ethical!! One trainer even tried to jolt Lilou's lead around her neck( if you know Natalie, this was the end of that abusive trainer). So Natalie educated herself more and worked with an expert in behaviour 😁 Once Lilou had her issues addressed, Natalie took a holistic and ethical approach to training Lilou. 😁
Lilou was a 3 year old dog, who needed to learn basic living needs, undo puppy trauma , gain confidence, gain social skills , lower her reactivity levels, bound with other dogs, understand the very basics of life...such as toilet training and her name. In a year of working with Natalie, she managed to over come all this and turn Lilou into an Olympian 🏅 This doesn't happen by luck, it happens through ethical and safe training😇 When they entered the Olympics, Natalie refused any advertisements around it, her reason : Lilou's welfare came first. When asked about it her response was "My only comment will be, this is our first time out and we are learning as we go. This is a new experience for Lilou and Myself, while we are beyond greatful to be involved. Lilou is firstly my family and then she is an athelte. The score boards will update ye on her progress and outcomes. Her method to training are ethical and holistic. Thank you for asking. Now where can I buy poo bags ? "
We are beyond delighted for Lilou and her amazing success story. She has made a massive turn around in a short space of time. To carry rosettes from EVERY category, to carry 2 over all rosettes and a medal, she really didn't do to bad 😀
We are beyond blown away by Natalie daily, her attention to detail, abilities to train so kindly, her understanding of animals, gentle personality and problem skills are just simply amazing🥰 Most trainers develope a god complex, but Nat has stayed humble the whole way! When we asked her about it, she gave an extremely personal answer that we unfortunately we won't be sharing. But know that any circumstances, she will never judge only try to help. We are so proud of you Natalie for all you've overcome and how your potential still has space to grow. 😁 As you always tell us " A Sun Flower will always find the light 🌻 Natalie you are our sun flower!
