Wishing our good friend Lilly the very best of luck at 🛫FEI European Championships for Ponies 2022🇵🇱🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪
Our second team member to go under the spotlight is Lilly Larkin
Rider Name Lilly Larkin
Age 15yrs
Rider :
I live with my Parents Angela and Bryan in the picturesque fishing village of Dunmore East on the Waterford coast. I got my love of horse riding from my Mother who used to show jumps on the National Circuit She now breaks and trains young horses and me along with Anne Marie Dunphy. I have been dressage riding on the national circuit for the last five years, on my pony Castle Miller(pet name Blackie). Blackie was my first dressage pony, he was a very sharp 12.2 pony and riding him meant I needed to be very accurate all of the time. At the time I did not appreciate how much I was learning from him and when I got my new pony Blokland’s Hoeve’s Amor this experience made the transition easier. So much so, after two months, at my first three competitions I got my national score to allow me to compete internationally. We went to Keysoe (my first international) in March and I got my international score which allowed me to be considered for selection to the Irish Pony Dressage team
Pony:
My mam got me “Moo” in November 2021 from Carmel Curran. He is a very experienced pony having competed Nationally and Internationally. He originally came from the Netherlands from Lauren Neville. Lauren competed him at an internationally level. Carmel then bought him where he competed with her sons Finn and Cillian and went to three European championships and numerous international shows.
Moo is a very sweet pony that always tries to perform his best for me. He loves treats and can often be found sleeping and snoring in his stable.
Rider Achievements:
Reaching my qualifying score in my first International and achieving a personal best of 71.7% in the team trials. My goal is to reach a new personal best.
