I am originally from South Africa and growing up, we had ducks, rescued guineafowl, horses, dogs and cats. During school summer holidays, we would visit my Uncle Ronnie on the farm in the Karoo(Northern Cape) and there I learnt a lot about subsistence farming and farm life in general. It left a lasting impression on me and I guess all of these childhood experiences led me to become hopelessly obse

ssed and in love with animals, working with and caring them. I can't imagine a world without our beloved furry friends. They truly do make the world go around for me. From a young age I used to house/pet sit for neighbours and friends and continued doing so until well into my late 20's. I believe that our pets are less stressed when in their own environment, but have company whilst their owners are away. This is of the utmost importance to me. My husband and I have a recue cat named Houdini and we love him to the moon and back. He is a source of great joy and laughter every day.
