The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Israel wishes to express its displeasure at the killing of dogs that is taking place these days in Hebron, sponsored by the city mayor.
The shooting and the killing of stray dogs is a direct result of the failure of the governments in Israel for generations, to prevent the reproduction of dogs by requiring sterilization and castration, as well as prohibiting the breeding of female dogs without special permits.
We hope that the mayor of Hebron will reconsider his course, and, instead of murdering and killing animals, a humane solution is found for the treatment of the remaining survivors, if there are any more.

Sofia.
She came to us at beginning of April. For over 3 months she was in complete shock. Just laid on the shelf and refused to let anyone near her. Hissed and scratched and was just so terribly sad.
Eventually very very slowly she came out of her shock. (With the help of Bach therapy Drops every day in her water. And One of the vet assistants who spoke Russian to her. And me trying very hard to make friends).
Now she is so much better and sweet and loveable.

We want to share SPCA CEO Hilma Shmoshkovits emotional text:
"This sweet little thing was adopted from the SPCA Israel in Tel Aviv 2 years ago. When we let somebody adopt an animal we trust the new family will understand that from that moment on this little life will be in the new families hand (and heart). This cat does not know why he was brought back to the place he was taken from 2 years ago. He does not know why he again has to live in a cage, with, let us be honest, very little chance to be adopted by another family (because there are few people who adopt an older cat). I, and I say this as polite as I can be at this moment, find it a cruel act."

Dear friends,
We wish to inform you of a serious emergency situation, a true and long term hardship. For the last six months or so, the number of applicants for adopting cats and dogs, has drastically reduced and amounts to very few adoptions, which are the lifeline of the animals and us.
It is very sad and heart breaking to daily walk through the shelter and see the dogs, practically begging for a loving hand and a warm embrace.
Nearly 200 dogs (most of them are ready for adoption and the rest are recuperating) and nearly 40 amazing cats (most of them are cute kittens), are sitting, waiting in their cages.

The worst is yet to come, as we are at the midst of the whelping season, which as always, will bring thousands of puppies and kittens into the streets, suffering anguish and distress. Their lives and our lives, as their loving caregivers, are very hard.
Therefore, the real problem is the decline in adopting animals, but also the serious lack of donations and funds, that are necessary for continuing the important work of the Israeli SPCA.

Our first plea is to you, please spread the message of love to all those around you, consider to responsibly adopt a loving pet that will do you good and will bring happiness all around.
The second plea is also desperate. We appeal to your generous and plentiful heart. Please send bags of dry adult dog and cat food, bags of puppies and kitten food, as well as cat litter bags, so that we can keep the hygiene at the Cattery.

We need over 1 ton of dry food very month, in order to feed all the animals at the shelter and our food storage is rapidly emptying. The cat litter bags also run out very quickly.
When you buy food or cat litter for your beloved pet, please spare a thought for the animals at the shelter and send them some cat litter and food bags.

Only with your help, we can carry on with our work and mission, to help and provide shelter, treatment and care, in order to prevent cruelty and suffering of abandoned and unwanted animals. Please be generous and enlighten the darkness for these animals.

"No – man's – land" dogs, that is how they name them and that is exactly how they live, very miserable, destitute lives.
Hundreds of packs of dogs, tremendously suffer, under very harsh living conditions, in the Negev area and in the rural north of Israel.
Continuous hunger, thirst, illness, being struck by passing vehicles, are all part of the daily insufferable life of these apparently "transparent" dogs, that are so easily ignored.

Thousands of dogs aimlessly roaming rural areas (especially in the Negev), are the result of long term neglect and disregard. However, their overwhelming anguish, is apparent here and now.
There is no savior for those who suffer and require urgent help, those that were hit by cars and trucks, the sick and the infirm, heavily pregnant and lactating bi***es and newborn pups, their days numbered in this horrific and sad survival war.
We need your help, so that we can acquire humane capturing equipment and so help and prevent, the suffering of these "No – man's – land" dogs.

We will not be able to help them all, but surely, we will be able to prevent the immense hardship, of those who are severely affected.
Thanks to your contributions, we hope to equip the activists who help the abandoned animals in the south of Israel, as they face huge shortages of manpower and capturing equipment.
The cost of bringing these animals to the veterinary clinics and the rehabilitation costs of those that are adoption – worthy, are very high.

The price of one humane trap for a large dog, is between 1800 – 2500 NIS and we need quite a few of these traps.
We also require several capture poles, nets, protective gloves and any other essential equipment, which is needed in order to capture these ailing dogs, who require immediate veterinary attention.
Transport and manpower costs are a substantial part of the rescue budget.

Your contributions will enable us to have a financial support network, which will allow us to help more dogs and other organizations, who will accommodate and rehabilitate the dogs.
We, here at the Israeli Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, appeal to your heart and ask you to join our important journey to the Negev, to help the "no – man's – land" dogs.
The more supporters and partners we have on board, the more we can prevent grief and suffering.

You are all life saviors!
The total cost of the equipment is about 76,000 NIS and we do desperately need it, like a breath of fresh air.
Our heartfelt thank you, for your attention and support
The Israeli SPCA family

02/06/2022

Mr. Carmel Shama Hacohen, Mayor Ramat Gan, what will it be?
How long will you continue to make the captive animals miserable at the Safari Zoo?
A very bad and infuriating report we received from our zoologist Hila Akstraight, the representative of the Association, who has been acting on behalf of the Association for the past two years in cooperation with the park's management and the representatives of the city of RG, zoologists and zoologists and caregivers at the Safari Zoo, sound people and party distributors, And even present at parties and have observations and noise measurements with her colleagues, to minimize the damage to the well-being of the animals at the zoo caused by trance parties insisting on having a national park near the safari.
In this framework, Hila attended the last trance party held in 28.05 in the National Park bordering with the Zoo to minimize the damage caused by these parties that harm animal welfare. She got upset and upset that the understandings and summaries reached by representatives of the Animal Welfare Association in Israel with the producers and municipal officials over the past two years, and conditions set out were not in the field, and the party was held not as agreed and suffered (to say the least), distress and fear for the captured animals.
From the zoologist's report:
"Unfortunately, the successful estimates and improvement of the trend were cut off roughly at a party that took place last Saturday night (28.5.22), because of a complete disregard for the production that produced the future Memory event at the guidelines given, and therefore the animal welfare was damaged.
The same company also produced the previous party in 31.10.21, and there were buds of problematic behavior, when at the same time, they did a sound check on Paul Va**um, which caused a lot of panic in the zebra herd, a panic that once caused a herding and unnecessary death of zebra.
In a preliminary meeting for this event in 15.5.22, producers were specifically told not to repeat this behavior, and they promised that the sound check would be low intensity.

Unfortunately, the day before the party last Saturday, we had a sound test at noon at Paul Va**um, which followed by her safari therapists reported missing experience and zebra, antelope, and other herd animals in African territory, indicating a severe impact on animal welfare and significantly endangering them. On Saturday, a sound check was conducted again at 9:00 a.m. on a high volume, and therapists reported that both the Asians and the African elephant herd had heard distress calls.
In addition to this, it was revealed that the production had not been held for the estimates set by Mr. Samuel King, for five O'clock in the afternoon, that a strong set of basins were not supposed to be felt at all in the African territory, accompanied by a high decibel force far beyond what was decided in the preparations for the parties. Each time the taxes were activated, it brought a gallop of zebras to life. Reports from the zoologist Hila Ahkyan and safari's caretavers have been observed to be unusual in the open African area and for the first time since cooperation began, even in the zoo that is relatively far away. The observation reports included beyond a gallop of zebras during the bass operation, even a run of all rhinoceros including a limp rhino that almost runs whose tails are rolled up (sign of distress), the roar of the Syrian bears in their night structure, the distress calls of Asian elephants and these are just the animals observed
The production did not have time to download the volume and only after complaints from all the professional elements and the legal counsel of the Association of Attorney Inbal Kider live with a specific threat that would immediately appeal to Judge Thorne for a temporary restraining order and the closure of the party, the bosses were removed under the direction of Mr. Samuel Malki, and at the same time the animals calmed down."

In conclusion,
Mr. Carmel Shama, Mayor Ramat Gan, if the city of Ramat Gan doesn't know how to take over its producers, don't throw parties in her national park!!!!
No more parties, next to animals in captivity, no more harming the welfare of the animals in captivity.
We call upon the public that they care, to the public that knows how painful it is for the animals to experience the noise from the ear-spreader to the public that thinks the parties should be banned, join us and together in public pressure that comes out of the heart, we will be able to divert the parties to another location in or around the city.
Share the post, respond, let it resonate and reach as many people as possible who will be aware of the current painful situation, and they will also be able to make their voice heard. Respond here, Mayor R. J. and his advisors are reading everything.
We hope Mr. Carmel that this will be the last loud party to hit the animals and no more trance parties or any unwelcome decibels alongside the captive animals.

Dear friends, standing by us.
We have a BIG problem . We are in a SEVERE SHORTAGE of food at the shelter. Both the stockrooms for dry dogfood as well as for catfood are empty. True, we received bags of food from nice shops, but today we had to threw them out, not just because the exparationdate passed long ago, which not always or immediately is bad, but in this case, today, we had to throw most of it away.
We are coming to you, right before Pesah, for help.
Please ask Tel Aviv pet stores, also Bat Yam, Holon, Rishon le Zion, Ramat Gan et cetera, to make a donation of dry food for dogs, cats, also for puppies, at 159 Herzlstreet, Tel Aviv. Or you can make a quick donation through our site, using the following link:

Or: with bit and paybox: 054-8789980

We desperately need this help, the shelter is overflowing, like never before, with dogs.
Any donation will be blessed.
Thank you on behalf of the dogs and cats and the family of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Israel, Tel Aviv.

We love to give you good news, that’s why today we want to share some beautiful adoptions from the last weeks. Akwa, Simba, Anna, Litchi, Luci, Iza and Afarsek found a forever home and we cannot be happier for them.

When we see those happy faces (both the families and the dogs) it’s when we know we can’t stop, we have to keep working on them everyday, because there are still hundreds of dogs that are still waiting.
Thank you families for choosing adoption and for your kind hearts. Welcome babies to your new life!!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻

Shoko is 7.5 year old. He was abandoned at the shelter a few weeks ago, because his owners didn't want him anymore, they prefered a new and younger dog.

Shoko is gentle, friendly, loves to play with people and dogs. He is big and strong, but also he has a very big heart, he is full of love.

He has urinary problems so he needs to eat a specific food and go to check ups every once in a while, but he can live a very happy and normal life.

He is the perfect dog for any family who wants to add a big and sweet family member to their lives.

If you want to adopt him you can come to visit him to the shelter, Hertzl 159, Tel Aviv or talk to us.

It's only January 4th, and three dogs have already been abandoned since the first day of 2022, at our shelter. They used to have a family, a home, and love. The dogs have the best behavior, they're good and loving. There is no excuse in this world to abandon your family. This is just cruel and inhumane.
Amos 5 years old and a half, Zoe and Snoopy are 1 year old.
You share your home with a family all your life, but suddenly they decide they don't want you anymore.

In order of pictures they are Snoopy, Amos and Zoe.

Please help us by sharing their sad faces and finding them a new home forever.

Joy is a 4 month old German Shepherd. As with many other dogs, she was bought by a couple, but when they decided to divorce, she ended up in the shelter because neither of them wanted to keep her.
She is full of joy as her name implies, she enjoys playing, jumping, running, and meeting new people. It's key to find a good and responsible family for this baby girl, since she will grow up big and strong.

If you want to adopt her please contact us or come to the shelter directly, and if yoi can’t adopt her, please help us sharing.

Kfitz is this beautiful baby boy. Please believe us when we say we've never met such a sweet baby boy before 😍

He will be small/medium size.

He is 5 months old and we cannot think of a single reason why he has not been adopted. His character is authentic, he is calm, sweet, he loves people, he loves other dogs, he is extremely cute and he is full of joy and hope.

Give Kfitz a chance, you won't regret a day in your life with him. If you are looking for a true loyal friend, please give him a chance.

I´m Chen, a beautiful baby boy, I´m only 3 months old and I´m the sweetest blondie you´ve ever met.

I will be medium size and I will make your life better. I am good with other dogs, love kids and I love to play and run.

I still don´t understand why I´m here, I share the shelter with many adult dogs and I´m starting to be scared that if no one adopts me, I will live forever in a cage.

If you adopt me I will love you forever, I promise to be a good boy (if you train me!), to play a lot with you and to be loyal to your family, I will bring you the ball until you get tired :p I will give you a lot of kisses and I will stay beside you with you when you are tired and sad.

If you want to give me an opportunity to be happy and loved, you can visit me on Hertzl 159, from 11am to 17hs.

Someone told us a few days ago that there are not enough homes for homeless animals in the world and not enough people in Israel for the number of dogs on the streets looking for homes.

Do you realize how sad that is? Although we know a shelter is not a home, we strive so hard every day to keep their hope and their happiness at the shelter. The SPCA was built with love and a lot of effort, and we pray for the adoption of all of our animals. It is not enough to play with them, to feed them, to hug them, to talk to them, to visit them. We know this is not life for them, and it is heartbreaking.

Since no one ever took the time to talk to them, to tell them they are loved, we speak to them, because they are lovely, gentle, friendly, and sweet. We tell them they will be adopted, that there will be a family for them. It's impossible to look into their eyes and tell them that probably nobody will pick them up, that they may spend months or years in the shelter, but deep down we fear this.

Meanwhile, many people are buying cute and beautiful dogs without realizing that for every dog that they buy, another dog dies alone on the streets.

You will save a life by adopting, and you might find your dream dog at our shelter. The beauties in the video are Soka, Prince, Peter, Lichi, Popay, Oreo and Henri. They are all waiting for a family.

Please help us spreading their voces!🙏🏻🙏🏻

I am Peter, a one-year-old boy who has been living in the shelter for the last 8 months (since I was two months old)😢. I was abandoned and brought to the shelter by someone who found me. I was a tiny cute baby, so I thought I could easily and quickly find a family.

However, I'm still here😔, a lot of time has passed and I'm losing hope of finding a family and leaving the cage someday.I am a good boy, I am sweet, I love to play, I love people and dogs and I am very smart and calm. I am an ideal dog for any kind of home.

What's going on with me, why am I invisible? I honestly don't understand. Don't you see I'm just here? I've been waiting and waiting. In the past 8 months, I saw how many of my friends were adopted, I saw people coming to the shelter to choose a dog and nobody even looked at me.

I am sad, heartbroken but I will never stop waiting for someone who love me, because that is what I deserve and nobody ever will take that from me.

If you are interested in getting to know me and see if you fall in love with me, you can come to the shelter every day from 11am to 5pm or you can call us or talk to us.

Please share!

Popay is so tired of seeing that nobody pick him so he decided to change the strategy and now he gives a little jumping show to everyone that visits the shelter.

These are just a few of our beautiful dogs waiting for a forever family. They all deserve a chance to be happy and to be loved.

Rain and winter is all over and they don’t deserve to spend another winter cold in the shelter.

Adopt a dog is one of the best decisions you will ever take, help us changing their destiny. If you know someone that wants to adopt an adult dog or maybe he is thinking about adoption or it still not sure about an adult or a puppy, please share the post with them, maybe this beautiful and cute eyes are what someone is waiting for🥰

If you are interested in adopting one of them or would like to know more, talk to us!!🙏🏻

Thanks for the amazing pictures 📸

We are at the beginning of winter, a stormy week is ahead and it’s only December 🥺
We want to make sure the whole winter will be warm and cozy for the dogs and cats in the shelter.

A heating lamp can cost up to 200 NIS and the electricity costs are very high and although we would love the electricity company to contribute the power supply to the heating of abandoned dogs and cats, it’s not our reality.

Even with the lamps, please remember that it’s always better at home, with a loving family and not in a cage in a shelter, but as we always say…a shelter is better than the streets.

Please help us buying heating lamps for our animals🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

Thank you for your support🙏🏻

Many people have asked us about Toy over the past few days, but he is still looking for a family. Although you would think that because of his breed, he would be adopted quickly, unfortunately, this is how it usually works, everyone wants the breeds. However, when we tell people that he is 10 years old, they simply don't want him anymore, because he is "old.".
We cannot help but wonder what is wrong with us as a society that judges and bullies animals based on their age? Or by how they look?
We must learn from them, they will never judge, they will be right beside us no matter what so we owed them that and much more.
Please if you are really interested in adding Toy to your family call us *4553

❤️Adopting a Dog❤️

Dogs will love you unconditionally.
They will wait the entire day for you to come home from work and even if you are tired or sad, they will bring a ball and ask you to play, and you will play, and that little game together at 21hs on a weekday will change your entire day.

They inspire you to enjoy things that you usually don't do, like stop in the park and smell the flowers. They always find the greatest joy in even the simplest things, like a ride in the car, and you will learn to do it too. They'll greet you like you've been gone a century when you only went out for a five-minute trip to the shop. They keep your bed warm for you when it's cold at night, and they will also sleep with you. They love to snuggle and they're the best at it.

Sometimes, when you walk together, he will look back to see if you are still there. Dogs will watch TV with you without hogging the remote. Dogs always seem to know when you're feeling blue -- and they'll gladly share their favorite toy to cheer you up.
Every day is an adventure when you share your life with a dog.

But mostly, you should adopt a dog because you’ll save a life.

The number of dogs abandoned, dead and walking around alone in the streets could be dramatically reduced if more people adopted instead of buying them.

Also, when you adopt a dog, you’ll make space in our shelter for another animal who might desperately need it.

Don’t be scared of adopting an adult dog. Talk to us if you have any questions.

Tell us your top 3 reasons why you love your dog!!!

The beautiful lady in this picture is Xena. She is 6 years old and lives a very sad life. The marks on her body are reminders of the hardships she faced before we found her. Any lover of dogs who wants a friend for life should get her. She is sweet and a great companion.Even after all that happened to her, she keeps trusting people.
Every time we see her, we look into her eyes and promise her that a forever family will come, that she will be adopted, that someone will pick her. Every week, she sees her younger friends getting adopted, but no one wants her.
I just want to share my experience, and I just want to suggest that you adopt an adult because they are grateful, loyal, they will love and care for you no matter what, they already know how to behave, and most of all... only you can remove them from the sad situations they live.
We encourage you to talk to us and come to see our lovely Xena if you fell in love with her. With her by your side, you will never regret a day in your life.--

It’s another sad day at the SPCA, we keep losing our faith in the human being.

A few days ago we received a lost dog and we (like we always do) tried so hard to find his family.

What we are sharing now with you is the phone call we had with his owner.

We are heartbroken and we still can’t believe someone can just abandon a dog, a family member.

Dogs are so pure, so kind, so loyal to their families, even when they don’t receive the love they deserve, they take care of you, they love you no matter what. Their hearts are so kind we will never be able to understand them because they make no harm, they just do good for this horrible and sad world.

While I write this words my heart breaks for Shoko, he doesn’t understand what is going on, why his family left him behind, why he is now in a shelter, sorrounded by strangers.

Shoko will be in adoption soon and he deserves all the love in the world, he deserves a family full of love and with a very big heart.

Gucci is our big baby. He is only 8 months and still doesn't know what is to be loved by a family. He doesn't know what is to sleep in a warm and soft bed and to wait for his humans to come home to play with him. He deserves that and so much more!
He is sweet, loyal, fun, friendly and is full of joy. He loves people and mostly children. We wish him a forever family and a life full of love, he is still a baby and he is happy all the time, because he still doesn't understand how his life will be if he doesn't get adopted.

Gucci needs a family that will give him attention and lot of love, he will need some training and needs education.

We promise you he will be the best friend you could ever imagined and he will be very grateful and happy to spend his life with you.

If you are interested in adopting him or know someone can fall in love with him, please help us sharing!

Meet Lucy!
Lucy is a two-year-old mixed dog.
Friendly, smart, and with a lot of beautiful energy. With only 2 years old, she already experienced what is being abandoned and ignored, but now she is safe with us and super ready to be adopted!

Occasionally, she may has difficulty communicating with other dogs, that's why she needs a responsible and loving family that will take care of her and will train her with lot of love and patience.

This breed is smart and special and whoever adopts Lucy will be very lucky, but also, will need to be very responsible about her and her education.

She deserves a family, she is smiling all day because she still has hope and faith in us. Please help us finding her forever home.

SPCA Israel

Founded in 1927, SPCA Israel is the most established organization in Israel dealing in animal welfare and animal rights, and its principle aim is the prevention of cruelty and suffering in animals.
