But these aren't the only reasons why dogs are the best. In fact, science can back up the claims that our canine companions are the superior species, too!

When you hug your furry friends, it can increases the production of Oxytocin which is also known as the “love hormone” in both of you. This hormone is usually connected with feelings of trust and strong formation of bond.
Hugging your furry friends gives both of you a sense of unconditional love and closeness. Hugging is calming and it relieves stress.

Nothing compares to the joy of coming home to a loyal companion. The unconditional love of a pet can do more than keep you company. Pets may also decrease stress, improve heart health, and even help children with their emotional and social skills.
Interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.

How do you “love” your dog? Do you love your dog by buying them yet another toy or accessory? Do you love your dog by coddling them? Do you love your dog by buying fancy treats ? Do you love your dog by giving affection all day every day?

All these things are for you. Yes, your dog may enjoy a good ear scratch or belly rub and a fun toy but all these things listed above are primarily for you to feel good about yourself.

If you really want to love your dog, learn to understand them. Learn to see things from their point of view. Remind yourself that you have a dog, an animal, in front of you that would like to be seen and fulfilled as such. Keep in mind that your dog has individual needs and that what may have worked for your previous dog may not be what the dog in front of you needs. Understand that your love language is probably very different from your dog’s love language. Again, it’s an animal, not a human.

In order to create a great relationship with your dog, please see them for who they are. Guide them so they know what the expectations are instead of leaving them hanging. Protect them so they don’t have to end up taking the lead. Fulfill their mental and physical needs so they can rest instead of live in anxiety, fear or frustration. They study you and your patterns all day every day because they want to be in the know. Learn about them, too. Make them happy by loving them the way they deserve to be loved. 🐾

We tend to expect SO much from our dogs. They’re supposed to get everything right the first time. They’re supposed to never make a mistake. People tend to expect a robot. They forget that they’re dealing with a living being sometimes. And they also tend to forget that they themselves aren’t perfect.

None of us is perfect. We will never be. We can only work on being more wholesome or better than we were yesterday. And that’s a great approach. We mess up, we get back up. We learn from our mistakes. We create routines that help us stay on track. And guess what, we still mess up. We have good days and we have bad days.

So please be more patient with yourself AND with your dog. Stop expecting a robot. Stop thinking that your dog should always be on point 100% of the time. Nobody is. Nobody will be. Take some of that pressure of. It’ll make your life a lot easier.

Obviously keep things safe. Keep working on whatever you’re working on. You’ll get the results if you’re consistent and patient. But also be kind to yourself and your dog along the way. It’s a process. It’s not a race. It’s not a competition. It’s just life. 🐾

The research done by Michigan state university revealed that dogs are like humans , they often take on the same personality traits as their owners which can get shaped over time.

Humans go through big changes in life, their personality traits can change. This also happens with dogs – and to a surprisingly large degree.

Dogs’ personalities are fairly stable because they don’t have wild lifestyle changes humans do, but they actually change a lot.

The researchers also found that a dog’s personality can predict many important life outcomes, such as how close they become with their owners, their biting behavior, and chronic illness.

So go ahead and be an example for your fur-buddies and they will follow up 🐾

We can rant out our feelings towards a sore tooth but they might not be able to.

Plaque can build up in dog's teeth if you don't brush them regularly and it can create a risk for bad breath, gum diseases and tooth decay.
