Red’s Bowl – This jam-packed nutrition bowl consists of Kidney beans, chickpeas, Eggs, and Chicken is slow to fire-cooked well with Red rice. Kidney beans are a healthy source of protein for your pet, being low in fat and high in antioxidants. It’s a good source of B vitamins, fiber, iron, and potassium, making them a perfect treat. Chickpeas contain lots of healthy fiber, proteins, and fats for dogs. But not just that, they also include minerals like Sodium and Potassium as well as Vitamin A, B-complex, and many others. Brown rice - It's full of natural fiber, which helps a dog's digestion. It is also an excellent source of carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. Are you considering switching to freshly prepared dog food 🥗? If so, veterinary research says you’re making the right move. Fresh dog food, formulated as part of a balanced diet, can have a great impact on your dog’s health, wellness, and even lifespan.
And, as with humans, dogs are what they eat. Many commercial dog foods are the equivalents of burgers and French fries.
Commercial pet food brands — yes, even the “organic” or “all-natural” varieties — are all so highly processed that the nutritional value of any individual organic ingredient is lost by the time it hits your dog’s bowl. Feed-grade ingredients require heavy processing to kill bacteria, whereas human-grade ingredients are packed with fresh, natural nutrients.
THE BENEFITS OF FRESH DOG FOOD
1. More energy.
Over-processed diets (such as kibble, packaged wet food, freeze-dried) can be hard for a dog’s digestive system to truly break down and glean nutrients from, which means a lot of food goes in one end out the other. Fresh ingredients are more digestible, which enables your dog’s body to absorb more energy from the food they’re eating. This gives your dog more readily available energy to use when needed. You’ll notice a perkier pup with more endurance for longer walks, hikes, and play time at the park!
2. Shinier coats.
Healthy oils are an essential part of any fresh dog food diet, and these fats quickly turn a dull coat glossy.
3. Healthier skin.
If your dog suffers from allergies or any type of skin condition, you’ve likely heard fresh food pitched as a natural remedy. Nutrients such as zinc, B Vitamins, and fatty acids present in fresh dog food diets help soothe and treat many skin conditions in dogs, and are far more powerful when pulled from whole ingredients, rather than simply supplied as synthetic supplements added to another type of diet. This benefit can typically be seen in as little as a month on a fresh dog food diet!
3. Brighter, healthier eyes.
Vitamin A is plentiful in fresh dog food diets and easy for our pups to use. Silly as it sounds, brighter eyes are a commonly-reported benefit of fresh dog food, and speak to better eye health under the surface. Vitamin A is plentiful in kale, sweet potatoes, carrots, and spinach. A good rule of thumb? Look for colorful veggies in a fresh diet to supply the richest vitamins!
4. Less waste, and firmer stools.
Many processed foods add an excessive amount of fiber, as fiber sources are often cheaper ingredients (basically any non-protein sources supply fiber). While fiber is important, the truth is, you can have too much of a good thing…At a certain point, too much fiber means your dog’s body is too busy breaking it down to absorb other nutrients from the food. In the long-run, this may lead to colon cancer or other digestive tract-related illnesses. With a balanced fresh diet, fiber only comes from natural sources and never reaches the dangerous 10% crude fiber ranges of processed foods. This means your dog can actually use more of what they are eating; less of the food simply passes through. On a fresh dog food diet, your pet’s stools will appear smaller, and firmer! Making pick-up time a bit easier…
5. Fewer trips to the vet.
The rich vitamins that come from fresh vegetables (Vitamin A, C), and freshly-cooked meats (zinc), help keep your dog’s immune system up. Immune system maintenance helps your dog feel better every day, but it also means fewer trips to the vet. Dogs with chronic conditions such as allergies, skin irritation, or sensitive tummies also find relief on a fresh dog food diet (free of the artificial additives that cause these conditions) and report fewer costly vet visits (think of all the squeaky balls you could buy with the money you’ll save…
6. Quality of life.
You enjoy your meals, so why shouldn’t your best friend? Amongst all the benefits of fresh dog food, perhaps the greatest is the joy we feel every time we put real food in the bow and watch their excitement in devouring it! Nourishing those you love is one of the greatest responsibilities we get to have, and there’s no better feeling than watching our dogs dig into something we know is healthy (and delicious) for them.
7. Longer life.
When dogs are no longer put at risk for cancer, allergies, and the many other threats processed dog food diets pose, a healthier diet translates to more years together. Just like human diets, we know that better nutrition is the clearest path to a longer life!
8. Peace of mind.
Never wonder what’s in your dog food again– see whole ingredients, which are 100% fresh, and feel comfortable knowing that no artificial ingredients, preservatives, chemicals, or fillers are in your dog’s bowl. Perhaps peace of mind is the greatest benefit of all!
Fresh dog food delivery services, such as Healthy Bark, work with canine nutritionists to develop cooking methods and personalized formulas that include the vitamins and minerals that meet the highest standards for dog food. We calculate the exact number of calories needed based on weight, breed, age, activity level, and body composition and take any allergies your pup has into account.
Healthy Bark’s food is made with human-grade ingredients sourced from reputable farms and approved by veterinarians. We never use fillers, by-products, artificial flavors, or preservatives. Each recipe is cooked by hand at low temperatures in small batches in the best standard of hygiene-regulated kitchen. HOW CAN WE HELP STRAY DOGS FROM DIWALI CRACKERS

• We hope to make up our minds to have a cracker-free Diwali this time. Our sense of celebration should not become another living being's misery.
• Imagine if there is a nuclear explosion – what would be its impact on us?
The crackers you burst feel like a nuclear explosion to animals.
• Sudden changes in the surroundings with such loud noise and fireworks push them to a stressed and confused state. Pet those if they are approaching you and shivering with fear; that will help calm them down.
• We feed a proper meal to our stray animals so that they are energized and willing to play around. This will distract them from the noise.
• It’s very important that we as residents allow stray dogs to take shelter near our homes, in your garden, or inside your building block or indoor parking. Open their doors for the stray dogs, so that they can find safe refuge as they are equally scared like the pets at home.
• Provide them with food and water inside your building, at a place that is safe from firecrackers. So that they are not wandering on the streets because there are chances of accidents.
• Because of the loud noises they mostly hide under the cars, so we should always be careful while driving off.
• If you live in a residential complex, try to put up rules for not bursting firecrackers where dogs or puppies sleep/rest. This little care will help them stay safe during Diwali.
• Educate the kids on how to deal with stray dogs during Diwali so that they do not burst firecrackers near the animals. Teach them not to run after stray dogs with firecrackers.
• Do not let anyone tease them by tying crackers in their tails and throwing lit crackers on/at them. If you see anyone doing this, make them STOP.
• Ask people to clean the compound to ensure no burnt crackers are left on the ground to avoid unwanted injuries to the pets.
• If possible, try to spray lavender room freshener around the area where the strays will be kept before they arrive. Breathing the lavender helps to reduce their anxiety and stress.
• Make a first aid kit in preparation for helping injured animals. Have a bucket full of water handy for emergencies and for putting used sparklers.
• Ask your family and neighbor to burst the fireworks in an open field that is away from the residential area.
• Dogs are enormous and brave enough to protect humans but not themselves, it’s our responsibility to protect them.
• This is one practice that you can continue even when the festivities have come to an end.

HOW DO WE PROTECT PETS FROM DIWALI CRACKERS
• If you have a pet at the house, avoid bursting crackers.
• Don't bring your pet to see fireworks.
• Take your pet for a long walk before the fireworks start.
• Before the start of Diwali fireworks play with them for a good amount of time, This will tire them out and help them stay in a calm state.
• Never leave them alone during fireworks, Stay home with them.
• Keep your pet hydrated as the noise causes a lot of anxiety.
• Keep all the doors and windows of your house closed.
• Keep your pets indoors in a quiet and familiar room where the sound would be reduced.
• Provide safe hiding spaces for them.
• Play some kind of music in the room where the pet is kept to soothe, calm and distract the animal.
• Have treats on hand as a distraction.
• Take your pet to a veterinarian and get an anti-anxiety shot given to him to keep him calm.
• Consider a sedative if you’re pet has a history of anxiety.
• Ensure pets are wearing collars and identification tags with current contact information. All pets, even those kept indoors.
• Make a first-aid kit in preparation for helping injured animals. Have a bucket full of water handy for an emergency and place used sparklers inside.
• Keep contact information for local municipal corporations and surrounding shelters handy and approach them immediately in case of lost pets.
• Urge people to avoid igniting loud firecrackers and instead use firecrackers that emit less smoke and do not create much noise.

As loving dog owners, we’re always looking for new ways to ensure our canine companions are happy and healthy.

Grain-free dog food excludes commonly used cereal grains like wheat, corn, rice, sorghum, barley, and rye. These grains are often replaced with legumes like lentils and peas and sweet potatoes, which are high in fiber and other nutrients while also maintaining a low-glycemic index. Pet parents may find this diet beneficial for their dogs who have food allergies, digestive issues, and difficulties with weight management.

But it’s also important to understand these formulas will not eliminate carbohydrates out of your dog’s diet.
But wait, aren’t carbs bad?

Not at all!

Carbohydrates may not be the most important part of your dog’s diet— like protein— but they provide a great source of energy. Always be sure their food has the right amount of protein, especially in the first five ingredients, to ensure they are getting the essential nutrients first.

Most vets today recommend that carbohydrates and grains make up a small portion of a dog’s diet : (50% vegetables/40% meat protein/10% grains).

And when it comes to promoting health, a grain-free dog diet can be a fantastic option for pet parents looking to feed their pups a more nutritious diet, as grain-free dog foods feature everything dogs need to thrive, and nothing they don’t.

As we stated above, our Healthy Bark created a new dish for your dog an entirely grain-free diet which is GRANNY MUMMU - It’s a grain-free dog diet, Chicken cooked with egg, veggies, and fruits cooked together along with homemade nutrients mixes and Omega fatty acid oil.

Our Healthy Bark grain-free diets are great choices because they are formulated and balanced correctly. They feature premium proteins, fats, fiber, and complex carbohydrates, and support a healthy digestive system, healthy skin and coat, and more.

Here are the top grain-free dog foods benefits are:
1. Provide Health from the Inside Out
2. Come with Less Risk of Food Allergies and Intolerances
3. Provide Better Nutrients and Value
4. Encourage Healthy Skin and Coat
5. Offer Unique & Specialized Ingredients

Can Dogs Be Vegan?

• The short answer is that yes, While it's commonly believed that dogs are carnivores like their wolf ancestors, meaning that they must eat meat to survive, this is incorrect. dogs are omnivores, carnivores, or something in between, they have several key omnivorous qualities. Canine digestive systems are quite capable of digesting and deriving nutrients from fruits and vegetables. dogs can survive and even do well on a vegetarian regimen.

Why dogs go vegan

• Personal ethics (the human's)
• Food allergies (the dog’s).

Balancing human ethics with animal needs

Of course, there are plenty of plant-based foods that dogs should never eat. If you make vegan dog food at home, you’ll need to include supplements. A vegan dog diet requires careful attention to amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. It’s essential to consult with a pet nutritionist to determine the appropriate types and amounts of food and supplements to provide all the necessary nutrients.

How to Feed Your Dog If You're Vegan

Vitamins and minerals - Vegetables, such as carrots, beans, potatoes, peas, and zucchini, are a rich source of vitamins.
A combination of any of these: Carrots, green leafy vegetables, egg yolks, soya beans, wheat germ, cauliflower, pumpkin, Ridged Gourd, Pointed Gourd, yeast, cheese, melon, whole wheat, potatoes, cottage cheese, wheat bran, whole grains, bananas, yogurt, sweet potatoes, squash, should give you all the vitamins and minerals your dog needs.

Protein – Found in dal, egg whites, and dairy. Split yellow lentils and split red lentils are the most digestible.

Fatty acids – Regulate the immune system and are anti-inflammatory. The most important fatty acids are omega 3 and 6. Omega 3 is found in flaxseed oil. Omega 6 can be found in sunflower oil, but ½ a teaspoon is more than enough oil for your dog’s daily intake.

Carbohydrates - 50% of the diet should include carbohydrates in some form- corn, sweet potato, brown rice, oats or soybeans, and any form of whole wheat. Not all grains suit all dogs; some can be an irritant, but the only way to find out is to try them in small quantities.

Dogs can eat herbs and seeds, and some of the common ones are

Parsley, mint, basil, rosemary, celery seeds, dhaniya, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds. Do not give garlic or onions.
you can give your dog plain rice or chappatis with curd, vegetables, and dal rice. Small pieces of banana, papaya, mango, and apple can be given after the meal. Dogs are very happy to munch on pieces of cucumber/ tomato/ radish/ carrot. At night you can give your dog chappatis or rice with soybeans, dal, and a boiled or scrambled egg.

Coconut oil - ¼ teaspoon daily for small dogs and 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon daily for big dogs.

WHY WE LOVE OUR DESI INDIE PETS & BENEFITS OF ADOPTING
AN INDIE

• Indian dog is the most convenient and economical option for those who are looking for a pet.

• Desi - Indies dogs are very sharp, their incredible immune system is better than pedigreed ones as they are accustomed to local conditions have amazing immune systems and they hardly need a lot of grooming of any kind.

• With sufficient exercise and walks they have proved to be excellent pets and perfectly suitable for apartment living.

• They are highly intelligent with a strong independent streak. known for being fiercely loyal, watchful, and courageous in addition to being obedient and easy to train are quick learners.

• They adapt to their environment very easily and can make great family dogs. They are amazing with kids and completely harmless. How a dog grows up depends a lot on its human, not the dog.

• Adopting discourages breeders. When we adopt a desi give a home to a homeless life who needs our care nutritious food and playtime with us.

• Indogs are extremely protective of their hoomans and will go to any extent to ensure they are safe. They are the most disciplined good boys/girls when a situation calls for it.

• They are absolute cuties! Their antics and smooshable faces will make you want to cuddle them so badly! And guess what, they’ll let you.

• You will rarely find fur in their living space. They do not require regular grooming either. Monthly baths and regular brushing are sufficient.

• A good companion is someone who never leaves your side. They can even cure your depression, and never make us feel lonely.

• With love, they are known to become even more loyal than the pure breeds.

How to Keep Your Pets Happy When Home Alone?
Start training early!
It’s important to start introducing your dog to ‘alone time’ right from the outset - especially as a pup.

STEP 1: you will need to start by leaving him in the house alone for just 5 minutes.

STEP 2: After 5 minutes, head back home and greet him. Make sure you give him attention and praise him. It’s important he knows you will be back soon and happy to see him.

STEP 3: The next day, head out for 15 minutes instead. It may be challenging those first few times when he’s sulking and whining, but he will soon get used to it.

STEP 4: Gradually increase the length of time you leave him alone. Always make sure you give him the odd treat and praise when you come back into the room.

STEP 5: It’s important you don’t give in to his whining. As soon as you do, you are telling him that moaning behavior is the right way to get what he wants. This will only make the problem worse. So, be resilient and give him the cold shoulder as you leave.

1. Walk & exercise before you leave him:

The best thing you can do before leaving your pooch takes him out for the toilet, morning walk, or exercise, they’ll likely fall asleep afterward! This gives you the chance to leave the house without your dog feeling worried.

2. Install a doggy door:

Your dog can go out in the backyard and sit in the sun. This is not possible in all places because some dogs are stolen from their own backyard. If you can, however, it can really help. He/she will not be forced to hold bowls and urine, and may just sleep most of the day.

3. Make sure they have everything they need

Make sure he has a comfy bed to lie in and has access to water and food or a long-lasting treat. You could also leave an old item of clothing that smells like you in their bed – and don’t forget that doggy den, which will help make them feel safe and relaxed.

4. Leave his favorite toys around the house:

Make sure that none of the toys could be chewed apart or swallowed.

5. Buy her a toy that can be stuffed with food:

The frozen peanut butter will last for several hours and give it to her when you leave the house.

6. Feed her a heavy meal at the time you are leaving:

This is not a good idea for every dog. Some dogs should definitely not be fed if the parent is not around. Dogs with a full stomach, especially if they are already tired, will sleep for hours, and may not even notice they are alone.

7. Don’t give in to emotional blackmail:

Each time you leave your dog behind; don’t make a big deal of it. Don’t look back, hug them goodbye, or look upset. And when you return, don’t run and hug your dog and act too excited. Make sure you give him attention and praise him.

8. Consider doggie day-care
If you need to leave home for long periods of time, consider dropping your dog off at a doggie daycare. Remember to do your research and ensure the daycare service you choose is a clean, well-designed location with qualified staff who can manage interactions between dogs carefully.

9. Never punish him
If you come back into the house after leaving him and he’s been to the toilet on the floor, do not punish him. The same goes for if he has broken something. If you punish him and scare him, he may only act up more in an attempt to win your approval.
