Antibiotics and paravets as published in a research paper

The paravets defined antibiotics as the medicines that kill pathogens and prevent diseases in animals and humans. In Guwahati, paravets relied on drug marketing agents to know about the effectiveness of a particular antibiotic.

“Sorry directly I can’t say what antibiotics are? The medical representative tells us about particular antibiotics giving good response in particular conditions.”- Paravet (Guwahati)

Almost all the paravets prescribed antibiotics in the field very often, except in Bangalore where they are only allowed to prescribe herbal medicines available at their local KMF. A considerable proportion of the paravets (8 of the 29) reported that antibiotics should be administered to all sick animals. In Kolkata, paravets always discussed the case presented with the available veterinarian before prescribing antibiotics.

“It depends upon the case. I never prescribe an antibiotic by myself. If the animal is ill, I note down the symptoms and consult the veterinarian of the block hospital. She prescribes and then, i direct the owner.”- Paravet (Kolkata)

Have you ever met Such Accident????
Last evening I was Engaged in various tasks, I received an urgent call from an animal owner seeking veterinary treatment. With my schedule occupied, I delegated the responsibility to my assistant. What transpired on his journey, however, took an unexpected turn.

Navigating a narrow road alongside a canal tributary, my assistant encountered a group of school kids returning home. In the midst of their exuberance, some playfully thumped the vehicle. Taking a proactive approach, my assistant slowed down, urging the children to proceed safely. A seemingly innocuous incident took an unforeseen twist when, upon the kids' return home, their parents began inquiring about the events that transpired.

The situation escalated dramatically when it was misconstrued that a Doctor's vehicle had caused harm to one of the children. The uncle of the young boy alleged severe injuries, including bleeding and difficulty breathing. Amidst the chaos, I appealed for patience, urging them to prioritize immediate medical attention for the child. Upon thorough examination at the hospital, it became apparent that the child was unharmed. The incident, it seemed, was artificially created to undermine me.

Now I do believe there is a life lesson for all of us to absorb, together...

Because the task of each human is to turn the pain , tragedy into triumph and defeat into winning...

I know that sounds obvious yet those who make their lives beautiful, joyful and great really do make it a practice of seeing windows of opportunity where most spot walls of adversity.

I’ve been through a lot in my life. Been bruised and bloodied, disappointed and dejected. Yet, I’ve always done my best to keep moving forward. And to seek the blessing inside the curse, if you get my drift.

And once you start operating like this (with the consistency that is the mother of mastery), failure becomes a friend. And a circumstance that introduces you to your gifts, strengths and most high of qualities.
..we become strong through dealing with setbacks.

…we become powerful by sitting with our pain.

…we become wise in the understanding of our errors.

…we become loving by embracing our suffering.

Makes me think of the precious words of the celebrated poet Mirza Ghalib:

"दर्द से मेरा दामन भर दे, या आल्लाह!
फिर खुद को मुझ से जुदा ना कर दे।"

Means
"Fill my robe with pain, O God!
But then, do not separate yourself from me."

We’ve all heard of the term “post-traumatic stress.” Yet I am far more fascinated by the phenomenon of post-traumatic growth: the instance where a human being actually leverages a setback in service of greater mental, emotional and spiritual strength. This is when heroes are made.

Anyway, I’ve taken up much of your time. Thank you for the attention.

I do hope my story have conveyed this some message

"Difficulty do not arrive for our failure but to promote our good fortune. And perhaps, our job is a straightforward one: to gain the growth amid the darkness"

Stand strong. Honor your talent. Keep moving forward.

Love and regard

🐄🌞 Sharing a Heartwarming Tale 🌞🐄

Good morning everyone! Today marks a special day for my family and our beloved member, Ganga the cow. With great joy, I want to share a heartwarming moment that unfolded in our lives.

🌼 Our morning today was nothing short of amazing as we welcomed a new life into our family. Ganga, our dear cow, gracefully delivered her first male calf in the early hours. The air was filled with excitement and happiness as we witnessed this beautiful beginning.

🐮 Ganga holds a special place in our hearts and home. Her gentle and affectionate presence has made her an integral part of our family. She's not just a cow, but a true companion who has added countless moments of joy to our lives.

💉As a veterinary doctor, my days are often long and nights even longer. During those quiet late-night hours, Ganga stands as a loyal sentinel, waiting for my return. It's truly heartwarming to see her recognize my arrival, looking at me with those soulful eyes. When I approach her, she greets me with a nudge, rubbing her head against me. The warmth of her response, the gentle clicks of her tongue against my palms and elbows, create a unique bond that's hard to describe. It's in these moments that I feel an incredible surge of oxytocin, the love hormone, coursing through my veins.

💖 Ganga's presence is a constant reminder of the beauty of nature and the unconditional love that animals can bring into our lives. She has taught me valuable lessons about companionship, loyalty, and the profound connection that exists between humans and animals.

🌟 Ganga, you are precious beyond words. Your presence enriches our lives in ways we can't quantify. Today, as we celebrate the birth of your calf and the countless memories you've given us, we want the world to know how truly special you are.

🌿 Embracing the Tranquility of Nature 🌿

Today, amidst the hustle and bustle of my hectic field veterinary schedule, I found myself at a farmer's humble abode, tending to the well-being of a majestic buffalo. As I stepped onto the farmer's land, I couldn't help but be captivated by the serene aura that enveloped the surroundings.

The date reads mid-August 2023, and the weather is truly a gift from Mother Nature herself. A gentle, cool breeze dances through the air, rustling leaves and creating a symphony of natural melodies. What a delightful respite from the scorching days we've witnessed earlier this year.

Perching myself beneath the shade of a mighty neem tree, I settled into a comfortable chair. It's moments like these that remind me of the profound connection we share with the world around us. The earthy scent of the soil, the soothing touch of the breeze – they serve as gentle reminders of the beauty that resides in simplicity.

As I conducted my veterinary duties, the farmer extended his warm hospitality, inviting me to partake in a cup of hot tea. Gratitude welled within me, and I accepted his kindness with a grateful heart. The tea, infused with the flavors of warmth and camaraderie, was a welcome treat amidst the tranquil ambience.

Sipping that cup of tea, I found myself immersed in the essence of the moment. It's remarkable how these seemingly ordinary encounters can offer profound reflections. The experience was nothing short of therapeutic – a pause from the demands of my profession, a chance to bask in the harmonious blend of nature and humanity.

In the midst of diagnosing ailments and prescribing treatments, I discovered an unexpected prescription for my own well-being – the medicine of nature's embrace and the soothing companionship of a farmer's generosity.

As I leave this haven, I carry with me a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. This day has taught me that in the midst of life's whirlwind, there exists an oasis of peace and solace waiting to be discovered. Here's to finding moments of serenity in unexpected places, and to the unwavering connection that binds us all. Dr. HR Bhadu

🐾📖 Embracing the Ikigai philosophy in veterinary practice has been truly enlightening! Here are five valuable lessons every veterinary practitioner can learn from the book "Ikigai": 🌟

1. 🐾 Finding Purpose: Discovering our "ikigai," the reason we get up in the morning, can deepen our connection with our profession, patients, and clients.

2. 🌿 Embracing Nature: Nature plays a vital role in healing. Incorporating nature-based therapies can enhance the well-being of our animal patients.

3. 🤝 Compassionate Care: Building strong bonds with our patients and clients through empathy and compassion creates a more fulfilling veterinary practice.

4. 🌟 Continuous Learning: The pursuit of knowledge and refining our skills is essential for providing the best care and staying updated in the ever-evolving field of veterinary medicine.

Let's embrace these lessons and cultivate a fulfilling and purpose-driven journey in veterinary medicine! 🐾❤️

I refuse to retire. Ever. Ever. Never.

[I pray to be at the operating table, performing intricate operations on animals, even at the age of 101, with the same passion and skill, delivering the highest standard of care and compassion].

…To retire would be to halt my pursuit when I am closer to achieving the pinnacle of excellence in my craft. [Why would anyone stop when, after ten years of rigorous training and experience, they are on the verge of mastering their surgical skills and expertise?].

…To retire would be to lose the profound joy and fulfillment I experience from being an instrument of healing and helping animals recover, thrive, and lead healthy lives.

…To retire would be to age quickly by moving less and removing my central mission from my life.

In my mind (and heart), retirement would be the beginning of the end. So I won't do it. Ever. Ever. Never!

I am now in my 10th year as a veterinary surgeon, and I feel deeply honored to have had the privilege of performing surgeries and providing medical care to countless animals.

Anyway, I humbly thank you for entrusting me with the care of your beloved pets and animals. I am committed to continuing to serve and help to the best of my abilities, and I strive to further improve my skills and techniques to deliver exceptional surgical outcomes.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have entrusted their animals' well-being to me and have been a part of this incredible journey. Your trust and support mean the world to me.

In conclusion, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your animal companions. May they always be blessed with good health and happiness.

With love and deep respect,

Here are five essential traits a new veterinary practitioner must have:-

1. Compassion:
Veterinary practitioners must have a deep sense of compassion for animals and their owners. They should genuinely care about the well-being and welfare of animals, showing empathy and understanding toward both the pets and their human companions.

2. Knowledge and Expertise:
A veterinary practitioner should possess a strong foundation of knowledge and expertise in veterinary medicine. This includes understanding various animal species, their anatomy, physiology, diseases, and treatment options. Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field is crucial for providing high-quality care.

3. Communication Skills:
Effective communication is key for a veterinary practitioner to establish trust and build relationships with clients. They should be able to clearly explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care to pet owners in a way that is easy to understand. Good communication skills also involve active listening, as it helps the veterinarian better understand the concerns and needs of the pet owners.

4. Problem-Solving Abilities:
Veterinary medicine often involves diagnosing and treating complex health issues in animals. A new veterinary practitioner should possess strong problem-solving abilities to identify the root cause of an illness or injury and develop effective treatment plans. They must be able to think critically, make informed decisions, and adapt their approach as necessary.

5. Resilience and Emotional Well-being: Working as a veterinary practitioner can be emotionally challenging at times. Dealing with sick or injured animals, making difficult decisions, and sometimes experiencing loss can take a toll on mental and emotional well-being. It's important for new practitioners to develop resilience and practice self-care, seeking support and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

These traits are crucial for a new veterinary practitioner to provide excellent care and build a successful career.
