I have sad news for Muffin's friends...
Can 10 years pass in the blink of an eye?
Yes.
In 2011, our home was graced by the arrival of a gentle soul in canine form named Muffin.
The years since then have flashed by... in a blur of fun, joy and play.
This picture was snapped almost exactly 10 years ago, to the day.
Yesterday night, Muffin passed on to the Great Playground in the skies, to romp and run around, unbridled by any worldly woes.
She's been growing older, with age-related changes like arthritis setting in - and had been unwell for the last two weeks.
Yesterday evening, she suddenly had a setback. An hour later, she died at home. Her passing was peaceful and pain-free.
We are still hurting, and only slowly coming to terms with the reality of her loss.
It will be hard to carry on without her, but thankfully we have thousands of happy memories together to console and comfort us in her absence.
Thank you for caring, and for being a part of Muffin's life.
I know she would want to reach out and give you a hug - and a lick... because that's how she greets her friends!
