Sterilization drive - 31 October to 13 November - 6 buddies.
16 November 2022 - While I was taking out my dog for a morning walk, I saw this dog lying by the side of the road.
Definitely it is not a neighborhood dog as I have been feeding and taking care of all of them and I know each one very well. Someone must have abandoned this miserable dog and the rope around his neck confirms that it was someone's pet. He could not fend for himself from the other dogs in the area. However, the other dogs did not harm him in any way, just sniffed and maintained a distance!
I do not know how this poor being reached up to this situation but his skin was fully exposed and the bone was prominently visible, most probably an accidental case.
Although seeing his condition I didn't believe he could survive, I tried all possible means to rescue him, however he did not allow anyone to touch him. His condition was out of my reach as there was no time left for first aid and preliminary treatment and he needed critical emergency care. I called all the nearby NGOs who as usual did not help, some NGOs genuinely did not have space while some other did not even wanted to try. It was not up till the evening that I could manage to send him to the vet with the help of a professional catcher.
His blood was sent for test and he was started on IV. However, time was running out and finally he gave up the next morning.
Almost 1.5 months have passed but the plight in which this buddy was keeps coming back to my mind. Hope his soul found peace in the ever-loving embrace of the Almighty.
Distemper is a deadly disease in dogs. It is contagious and can affect a whole population of dogs.
This buddy is in the last stage of distemper and someone brought him to the shelter this morning.
Who would believe these are stray dogs whom I take care of. Its their beautiful Sunday summer bath time feeling!!!
Ek buddy se dosti kijie sadak par, use khilae-pilae, aur first aid medicines dijie, garmi me kabhi kabhi nehela dijie. Wo katne wala doggy bhi ho to badal jaega, yehi pyar ka takat hai.
Maya - a male street dog not known to me earlier.
I spotted this dog with a hind leg limping and pursued him for months for a regular treatment. But some days he would appear and other days he would just not! So I named him Maya.
Gradually, I befriended his whole team of 5 dogs who live in a garbage dump by daily feeding so that I can start Maya's treatment.
And here they are - all beautifully accepting me and Maya cooperating 100% for his treatment.
Dogs are great, they are ever accepting and so very kind.
My children do not speak. I have to understand when they are sick, hungry, and thirsty. And yes my children never grow up, they always need to be understand in their own ways. I am a mom to all the canines I meet. The greatest pleasure in this world is to be the mom of these innocent souls. Happy mother's day to all moms like me.
When will such brutality and cruelty stop? When?
This buddy has been reported to me today morning as badly beaten by locals 3 days back.
Since that day he has been lying in some abandoned home with no one to take care and bleeding profusely from his neck.
Upon inspection, I found his neck to have multiple dog bites. He had some pedigree gravy and drank a lot of water that I offered.
One of his hind leg is not responding and the lower spine has a big gap between the vertebrae. So, it is clear that people must have beaten up this dog at this particular part.
I am not familiar to this dog but this buddy seemed to be friendly even after he met with such cruelty at the hands of humans like me!
Your sins will always be take into account by the Almighty. This is inevitable. And it is a myth that taking a dip in the Holy Ganga wil wash your sins away. Only those sins are pardoned which you committed unknowingly. Beating a dog to death will never ever be pardoned, not in this life, not in the afterlife.
Update at 6 p.m. - Fox is no more..Run free fur baby.
Summer bathe drive No. 2 - Black
As the heat soars, it's tough for our streeties. They go to the dirty canals for respite and fall ill.
Black has been smelling rotten and coughing since 3 to 4 days now.
Here he is today after his rescue and bath.
Isn't an Indie a superb dog!
The heat is already soaring and it has been again a tough time for our street buddies. People out there please do your bit to arrange for drinking water this summer for the animals on the roads. It does not cost anything!
We have successfully placed 10 such earthen bowls on the pavements or any favorable place by the roadside and we are going to carry on this service throughout the summers wherever needed.
Jackpot - A parvo survivor pup
Winter months had been tough on us rescuing and saving lives of many street buddies. One success story is that of Jackpot.
One February night, Jackpot, a 3-month-old pup was left tied to a tree along with his sister by his owner. The reason was that the landlord of Jackpot's owner was not letting the dogs in.
In the following few days, Jackpot fall ill, was refusing to eat, vomiting, and had bloody poop. Someone notified us and the same very night we rescued him.
Soon we realized that the dreaded had happened and he got infected with the deadly Parvo virus. A very few pups only recover from this fatal infection and we are happy that we saved him with regular care, morning-evening drips of supportive treatment, not allowing to drink water, every hourly feeding of ice-cream sips, dahi sips, moong dal water, rice starch. Within ten days he started eating his regular food.
Now, a nearby family takes care of him and we make sure we regularly check up on his health status and do the needful wherever required.
We wish that Jackpot lives a healthy and happy life ever after.
Na jan na pehchan....
Ye dono khoobsurat bacche mujhe ek mall ke paas mile aur pata nahi kaise pata chala inko ki mera dil inke lie kamjor hai, unhone mujhe dher saare pyar die.
Blessed I am!
Dare to call you hypocrites.
You, who turned the temple to various religious events in the name of Arya Samaj for benefits of mankind?
You are a hypocrite who didn't bother to care for the dog who was residing in the temple.
The irony is that this dog was brought to this temple because humans needed a black dog to feed on Saturdays!
Now his home, the temple is kept closed and the perpetrators don't care to even think that where this dog will go in cold chilly winter nights.
Result-see this pic.
This buddy got drenched in rain the previous night outside the temple.
And yesternight he did not eat his favorite food that we feed each night.
Today morning when I checked on him he was shaking and is running a high fever.
We have given him temporary shelter in our rescue center and will treat him until he is again up and running.
May these morons rot in hell who has made this dog shelter less.
May the roof on their head crunch one day to absolute nothing.
Built a make-shift home by the roadside for a new mother with her week-old single pup. The mom is malnourished, we are feeding her daily and showering love on her.
Our locality dogs, Black and Kalu are being sent by us for sterilization today.
Mahatma Gandhi said "the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
A volunteer treating a cow infested with maggots in a nearby park.
The abandoned female senior GSD who had tumor and we got it operated is doing good since the last 1 month.
We have named her Gini and now she is absolutely ready for adoption. She is looking for an owner who can give her love and care for the rest of her remaining life.
She is loving and obeying in nature and has displayed no behavioral issues since the 2 plus months she has been with us.
Note: Adoption formalities apply. Breeders please excuse.
Spotted a displaced dog near our shelter. She was timid but accepted milk.
In continuation to our previous post on Kattu we are posting his videos here. He loved the foster home pet and enjoyed playing with her once he could support his hand leg.
