The Reproductive Cycle(All you need to know)
Bitch(Female dog) attain puberty at 6 to 9 months(average) of age. In general small breeds attain puberty earlier than large breeds.
The reproductive cycle in animals is known as the Estrous cycle/Oestrous cycle.
There are four phases in the cycle known as -Pro estrous (9 days avg.) (4-14days)
-Estrus (9 days avg.) (4-21days)
-Diestrus (60-80 days)
-Anestrus. (4-4.5 days)
A bitch takes an average of about 7 months to complete one reproductive cycle or estrous cycle. So most bi***es experience ovarian cycle twice yearly.
Proestrus- During this period the female becomes restless and attractive to male but she does not allow them to mate. Bloody discharges are seen during this period(may not be seen in all).
Estrus - This period begins with the first acceptance of male and ends with the refusal. Ovulation occurs during this period. ovulation can take place within 72 to 96 hours after the onset of estrus. Ova is fertile after 24 to 72 hours of ovulation. During this period the female turns her hindquarter towards the male , raises the pelvic region and accepts male.
Pregnancy minimum once-in-a-lifetime is clinically adviced to maintain a healthy uterus. Otherwise complications like pyometra etc. may be observed in nulliparous animals (though not always).
It is best suggested to skip two cycles of estrous before allowing the female to get pregnant.
However neutering/spaying the bitch always helps to tackle such health complications alongside resolving unwanted pregnancies.
The clinical signs and the time span mentioned here can vary among individuals. We have mentioned the most common ones.

Do you want a small breed dog beacuse of your lifestyle and living space?
There are handful of things you need to consider and be aware of.
There are many toy or small breeds available for you to bring home, but not all are suitable and will be comfortable to stay with you.
Bringing the pet to a totally different climatic zone is never advocated. It is torture to the animal in a way. This should be one of the most important criteria for you to consider.
In this picture we have highlighted some of the most prominent temperament and nature of few small breeds. Hope this will be of some help in deciding whom to bring home. The stay must be comfortable to both the parent and the pet.
We will be coming with more such breeds in the future.
P.S Indian dog breeds are the most suitable to our climate as they are acclimatized here. You can always consider bringing them home without a second thought.

It aims on drawing attention to the plight of canines around the world and encouraging adoption.
From abandoning fancy breed dogs by ignorant owners to the increasing number of stray population day by day, it is very important to support and promote adoption of dogs.
Adopting dogs can help reduce the massive network of breed mafias in the pet world. And also it can help you save a already existing life.
Its never too late to decide when to adopt a dog.
Go ahead and adopt one after you feel you are all set to take up the responsibility of the furry ball.

Yes, it is an endo-parasite(the moving object is a trophozoite of Balantidium coli and inside, its a Trichuris egg)
Parasites are organisims that live in or on other living organisims, deriving nutrients from them.
Parasites are present on every living organisim, when present in small number, they are not able to cause much harm, but when present in loads, the effect it causes is evident. They might leave the animal weak and debilated.
Now lets talk about our pets, you will be able to find two types of parasites on the body of your dogs, ectoparasite and endo parasite. They can be both macroscopic and microscopic
Talking about endoparasites , they can be prevented by regular deworming of the animal. Deworming of the puppies should be started as early as two weeks after birth.
Regular deworming along with supportive therapy is utmost important for the health of your pet.
Fact- For your dog's vaccine to work properly it is always recommend to deworm the dog prior to administrating it, if your pet does not follow a regular vaccination schedule.

Toxic plant - 1️⃣
ALOEVERA
Yes, you read it right. Although aloe is famous for its medicinal properties in regards to humans, this plant to seem to have a controversial status in the animal world.
Aloe vera, which is from the Aloaceae family, is a common houseplant. Aloes contain anthraquinone glycosides which are purgatives (medications that encourage bowel movements). When ingested, these glycosides are metabolized by intestinal bacteria forming compounds that increase mucus production and water in the colon. This can result in vomiting and diarrhea.
Whenever you suspect that your pet has ingested this, immediately contact a Veterinarian for aid.
But the best suggestion is to keep these plants out of the reach of your pets.

⚠️⚠️Tick alert ⚠️⚠️
Tick bite can cause various types of disease in pets. Ticks act as a vector for many disease causing organisms. And Canine Babesiosis is one of such diseases.
*But don't worry this disease is totally curable if diagnosed at an early stage without much complications.
In this post we have mentioned few points about the disease including its clinical signs. There are variety of clinical signs that can be observed in different forms of this disease, but we have mentioned the most common ones here.
*If you observe any of such symptoms on your pet immediately contact a Veterinarian for effective treatment.
*Ask your veterinarian for appropriate acaricide to apply on your pet to prevent tick infestation. Also don't forget to keep the kennel clean.
Few steps taken for prevention can keep your pet healthy and happy.

Do you know abandoning your pet is a criminal offence? Abandoning of pets in urban areas are quiter often seen these days. Owners buy expensive breeds as trophy animals and later end up leaving them in the streets after being unable to take care of them.
Pets are not toys. For that matter no living beings are toys. They have feelings too, they also need a home, love, care and affection alike humans. Owning a pet means owningm responsibility. They need to be taken care of the same way we take care of children.
Word of advice - Never decide to own a pet unless and until you are both mentally and physically prepared to have it at your home. Your pet is going to fill your life with all the colours in the rainbow, so, make sure that you are able to make his/her life colourful too.
