Children from SHRIMAD RAJCHANDRA DIVINE TOUCH (Magic Touch)- A journey for inner awakening for Children, Mangalore chapter visited our Animal shelter on 24th February 2024 and saw the need to help animals in distress. Our Trustee Suma r Nayak, spoke to the children during the tour of the shelter about why, how, we have to, we can help our brother, sister- animals and birds.

Compassion is natural to children, nurturing the same, allowing to grow in the right direction is important.

To kick start the year of 2024, we are desperately struggling to deal with the unwarranted inflow of little kittens and puppies that are left to fend for themselves. So, early the better and it's time for our first Adoption Camp at Belthangady.

Why adopt from Shelters?

- You help prevent overpopulation and unnecessary increase of stray animals presence.

Another pet desi dog Animal Birth Control (ABC) camp done! With the help of our generous sponsors, we spayed and neutered 79 dogs in Munnuru, Ullala Taluk.

Thanks to Munnuru Grama Panchayat for offering their Sumudaya Bhavana hall as a venue for our surgeries. They also helped us by sponsoring the shamiyana costs.

Thanks to Canara Bank, Shakinagar Branch, Mangalore for helping sponsor this camp. Your help made a difference!

Last, but of course not the least, is our major sponsor Madhwaraj Animal Care Trust (Malpe). As a backbone to this effort, they have helped sponsor and provide major financial assistance to this and all of our camps thus far. As we wind down the last and final ABC camp of 2023, we want to salute them for helping spay and neuter 317 pet desi dogs with us this year!

We are very grateful to Dr Manthana Amin and Dr Srihari for being with us on this journey. We look forward to many more united efforts in the coming year, as we strive to reduce pet abandonments and animal homelessness. A better world is possible 💐🐾✌🏽📣💕

Defective Storm drain, defective UGD , constructed by Mangalore City Corporation outside our ACT shelter premises caused artifical flooding, drainage waste to enter our wards yesterday 6th July 2023. Even prior to rains we had time and again raised complaints about these issues with MCC which yielded no result . On 6th July 2023 when our shelter faced the crisis, our staff, animals were put to untold hardship. Mcc official had to merely state clear the water logging outside your shelter then we will see UGD!!!! Today 7th July 2023 after water has cleared we called upon MCC to clear drains only to be met with an answer Drainage cleaning vehicle, jet under repair!!!! They even cut our calls, ignore our pleas, messages. One vehicle was sent which was not equipped to do the work! ACT is not responsible for the defective Strom drain, UDG done by MCC. We want our problem solved. Our drains are blocked, our wards cannot be cleaned and our animals, staff are at high risk of infection. MCC commissioner, Health dept, AEE, local corporator all are aware. Yet we get no relief. Will an NGO working for community animals get timely help??? We appeal to our MCC officials to do their duty. Our MLA pls note for the entire city hardly any drainage cleaning equipment, vehicles available!!!! Help ACT, Help Animals. Wake up MCC.

Heartless people abandoned new born kittens today. Rescued and now being taken care at our shelter.

The cry of helplessness is haunting. Don't abandon your pets, neuter the mother dog, cat. Be a responsible pet owner. Animal Care Trust shaktinagar mangalore is the only shelter in the entire district of Dakshina Kannada which is helping sick, injured, homeless animals. We are running totally full. We need your help and support. Come adopt a homeless animal, sponsor, donate food for animals.
