Royal Bengal Riding & Wheaton International School’s December Gymkhana fun highlights.
No lead rope, no lunge line, no one anxiously running alongside. It’s a huge first step, pure exhilaration and sheer joy when you connect with your pony and can ride on your own. #welovehorses #funride #poniesofinstagram #royalbengal #solo

New kids arrive at Royal Bengal
After the rains: a bright sunny morning: an invitation to ride!
Practice makes perfect. Our kids are now able to balance fairly well while doing the 2-point seat and manage their ponies/horses gently and confidently during transitions. #learninghowtoride #kidslovehorses #2pointseat #softhandsequine
Usually, riding schools will put kids on a horse the first day they enter the stables. That’s the way most of us learned to ride. But we feel the old way discounts 2 things: one the physical fitness of the child and second, the fact that most children have never been around large animals and are naturally afraid. By introducing the kids gently to the horses, getting them to handle horses and do some groundwork with them, getting them familiar, getting them to know and handle and love them before mounting up is a huge advantage. Meanwhile, we also get the children physically stronger, working on core muscles that are extremely important for a strong, confident rider.
