Growing Strong in My Greenhouse! 🌱 🌧️

🌿💚 I'm thrilled to share with you the incredible journey happening right here in my urban greenhouse. 🏡✨ I've turned this space into a haven for seedlings and grafted plants, taking full advantage of the monsoon season to maximize their growth potential! 🌧️🌿

🌱🌿 From majestic jackfruit trees to fragrant mangoes, superfood-packed moringa, creamy avocados, juicy guavas, and the magnificent sesbania grandiflora, a true treasure trove of greenery is flourishing under my care. 🌳💚

The greenhouse provides the perfect environment for these delicate young plants to thrive, sheltered from extreme weather conditions and nurtured with just the right amount of moisture and sunlight. 🏞️☀️ It's truly a marvel to witness their growth, as they develop sturdy stems, vibrant leaves, and strong roots, all in preparation for their journey into the earth. 🌱🌍

💫 It's incredible to witness the transformation from tiny seeds to robust seedlings, each one holding the promiseof a future fruit-bearing tree. 🌳🍃 Soon, these little wonders will be ready to take root in the soil, spreading their branches and providing us with bountiful harvests for years to come. 🌿🌱🌳

This is the difference between barka and Kapa jackfruits..

The left one is kapa and the right one pulpy is the Barka .

Lost so many 20 years old 🥭 mango 🌳 trees in this . Very disheartening .

Countless unripe mangoes were damaged felling from tree. We did tried to collect the mangoes for last three days to put it to some use , but still were not able to collect them more than 50%.

But we have decided to plant more mangoes as well as other fruit trees by end of this year. Hoping to see the bloom again .

🍈Two varieties of jack fruits🍈

The exotic tropical fruit harvested today morning, still in unripe condition.

🍈Variety 1 - Kapa fanas

"Kaapa" means the "hard / firm” variety which is more crunchy, drier and fleshier but less sweet . This fruit is very delicious and you can eat this without getting messier.

🍈Variety 2 - Barka Fanas

Baraka" means the "soft" variety which is more soft, moister, much sweeter with a darker gold-color flesh than kapa.

🍈The juice of the Barka is extracted and spread on greased metal dishes which are then kept for sun-drying. The tasty dried jackfruit leather tastes yum and is called phansachi poli.

I personally love to eat the Kapa ☝️ one .

🍈 Jack fruit that is quite unique, even in numerical terms: apparently a jackfruit can contain up to 500 seeds and consequently 500 pulp bulbs!😱

🌳 ABUNDANCE 🌳

We have only 3️⃣ trees of mangoes in our farm. But the amount of mangoes these 20 years old trees give us is appreciating and surprising.

Each mango of this tree is more that 500 grams and is so delicious 🤤.

We have made Aampanna, instant mango pickles from these ones and shared the rest with our neighbour farms, friends and family.

What was a silver lining for us in ⛈ storm.

Loss of unripe mangoes but not allowing it go waste. More than 20kg of unripe mangoes were collected from farm.

And here it goes we made dry mango powder, Aamchunda both sweet and spicy 🌶, Pickles both 🌶 and sweet, khatai ( shared few days earlier).

🍍 Booming Pineapples 🍍

🍍 These pineapple plants were planted in 2018 and now we have pineapples 🍍 and 🍍 all over our fence in farm.

🍍 Since last two weeks with this abundance we are making jams, and you won’t believe curries too.

🍍 we have shared the surplus pineapples with our farm neighbours , few friends and with my kids friends too, this is also a way to teach him community building and real sharing is caring .

👋 Cheers to the Mango season 2021.

❤️ I would like to thank and appreciate all the customers and friends and our team for their constant support and love. I am very grateful to have such wonderful people around.

🥭 we started with our 1st batch in March and it was total HIT. We received overwhelming response and very positive feedback’s.

🥭But our 2nd batch was a complete bummer. Harvested perfectly but untimely rains and lockdowns impatient deliveries ruined the whole batch.

🥭 Our 3rd and 4th the last batch in month of May are superhit with in great demand and awesome feedback’s.

🥭 With this we would like to announce close of Mango season for us. We appreciate each and every person who was part of this whole process from growing to harvesting to delivering and to eating the 🥭 Mangoes.

My team had discarded this mango 🥭 saying this is imperfect .. but hey 👋 this beauty mango 🥭 is perfect to be consumed and nicely grown, because beautiful things are never perfect 👌

🌳Trying to put forward new roots for the agriculture of the future. It may be a very small farm project.. but we have extremely big passion and dreams towards it.

Watermelon is a sweet and refreshing low-calorie summer snack. It provides hydration and also essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants

INGREDIENTS
2 kg watermelon cleaned
4 lemons
INSTRUCTIONS
Half your watermelon and scoop the flesh into a blender. Process until smooth and strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds.
Juice the lemons and add them to the watermelon juice and a generous amount of ice cubes to a large pitcher.
Serve in individual glasses by adding a few slices of lemon and mint.

How to identify real Ratnagiri mangoes from fake ones?

Smell - The fragrance of real Ratnagiri Alphonso is the key. An original Alphonso mango will have a sweet natural Aroma

Colour – It will have gradients of yellow and green on it. It will be not completely yellow like the Karnataka or Badami mangoes. They never turn complete yellow.

Shape – they are usually oval in shape and do not become narrower from below.

Texture - Real Alphonso or Hapoos mangoes that ripe on the trees are softer than the ones that are artificially ripened. Sometimes the artificially ripened ones may look perfectly yellow from the top but may be hard to touch. And fake are sold with wax polish shining ones.

This is the most frequently asked question to us . Mangoes range from 270 to 360 gms , which falls under A1+ grade , we only grow and sell A1+ grade of mangoes across Pune. Utmost care is taken to reach this stage of grade and so we appear late in market but sell best quality of mangoes.
