Raja: Fortunate Adoption!
So this cute, amazingly friendly Indie-Lab mix guy Raja was abandoned by some heartless family in Pashan few months back. Raja was attacked by the area dogs and used to fight for survival everyday. All of us used to see him as he had somehow settled at one chowk and we tried to find his family but could not. Our volunteers used to feed him and keep a watch but always had this helpless feeling.
This Diwali, like most other dogs, Raja was extremely scared of crackers and for 3-4 days frantically running all over Link Road. Our volunteers Aishwarya, Sneha and Chaitanya used to help him back at his place every night. But we realised we needed to find a foster for 4-5 festive days or else he would surely get lost.
Aniket @aniket27gajbhiye managed to convince his friend to keep Raja for a night at his farm in Pashan so we get some time to find a foster which was very tough during Diwali.
But as luck would have it, Aniket’s another friend just loved Raja and wanted to take him to their the farm! Aniket kept him for one more day at his place and in 3rd day his friend took him to their farm. They immediately vaccinated Raja, gave a bath, food and he joined them in their Diwali puja on his first day :)
It’s such a heartwarming and deserving turnaround for Raja, abandoned from a heartless family to getting adopted to a most loving one!

LONG POST
Putting up an adoption appeal for Piki who is around 6 months old. She’s just the sweetest and a bundle of joy..filled with energy and very friendly with people kids and other dogs. She will adjust really well in a family as she just wants love and nothing else.
She currently stays in the Bella casa society and like all other societies .. people of the society want her out which is why the guards are trying to scare her away. One week back an incident happened where im the guards put a rope around her neck and was trying to pull her, she would have died with the pressure of that rope on her neck if my friend had not intervened. They got her checked by the vet and got her vaccinated too. My friend is trying to contact the NGO for such actions but even if we issue a warning to them I am sure it’s not a permanent resolution.
It’s a humble request to each one of you. please help us in getting her adopted.

This community dog at Pashan, Pune had a very severe life threatening wound on his chest. Volunteers tried to catch him multiple times for couple of days but weren’t able to as he was very scared, in pain and used to hide immediately.
Our volunteer Chaitanya saw him on the 3rd day and immediately called Swapnil Joshi ‘s PetTaxi and waited near the dog till he arrived. Himanshu also came and all 3 managed to catch the dog and transfer him to Mh14 hospital.
The dog was treated with great expertise and care at MH14 for about 2 months. We could not have asked more. We were really amazed by his recovery.
He was brought back to his home area by Swapnil's PetTaxi.
Very happy to inform that the dog is totally healed and back to his playful best😊

In the Balewadi neighbourhood, Anand and Poonam Poddar came upon a stray dog that was wounded and could not move due to bleeding from its genitals and legs, due to an accident. The agony was so intense that the dog curled up behind a car to hide from any disturbance.
The injured dog was visible beneath the car while Anand and Poonam were returning from Balewadi. They could not just stroll by without providing aid, given their concerns over its state. As soon as they realised how badly the dog was hurt and that they couldn't save it right away, they contacted Seema, a devoted and knowledgeable volunteer.
Seema called MH14 right away and asked for the Pune Animal Ambulance to provide emergency assistance. The stray was quickly taken to MH14 for emergency care after getting hurt. The wounds became so severe that simple treatment was insufficient. The canine needed extensive medical care, but MH14 was completely full. Seema made further calls to ensure the stray's survival after seeing how desperate the situation was.
Thankfully, Seema made arrangements for the stray to move to Pet Force. After being moved from MH14 to Pet Force, the dog started its recovery process there. With the help of Anand, Poonam, Seema, and Hope For Paws, the stray was put back where it belonged after 2.5 months of work. He was brought back to his home area by Mr. Swapnil Joshi's PetTaxi.

A Good Samaritan Mr. Vijay @vijay_sakat44 informed our volunteers Tony and Anand Poddar about a dog in Pashan with a big severe injury on its back. Tony and Anand posted the pictures on our group. The injury looked very serious and Nikhil immediately took admission in Petsforce.
We did not have any pet taxi available at that moment so Anand and Vijay themselves took the dog in Anand 's auto to Petsforce in Wagholi.
The dog was treated with very good expertise and care at Petsforce for over a month. Only after the wound was healed completely, he was released. He was brought back to his home area by Mr. Swapnil Joshi's PetTaxi.

Guddi - maggots case
Our volunteer Aniket @aniket27gajbhiye found Guddi one day with an injury on her chest in Sutarwadi, Pune. He and Mr. Khaladkar @kumar_khaladkar gave her on location treatment but they saw maggots getting developed inside the wound and informed Seema in our group. Nikhil immediately took her admission in @petsforcepune and transferred her there through Swapnil Joshi’s @joshiswwapnil PetTaxi.
Guddi was treated with good medical care in Petsforce for a month. On getting perfectly healed, she was released back to her home by Mr. Joshi’s PetTaxi.
Thanks a lot Aniket, Mr Khaladkar, Nikhil, Swapnil Joshi and Petforce for ensuring Guddi’s wound did not get severely infested.
Guddi is now perfectly fine and settled back in her area 😊

Head in a Jar case
On 22nd Sep, our volunteer Tony got a call from Viraj Kulkarni @mufc_viraj who saw a dog with his head stuck in a plastic jar near Pashan lake.
Tony posted in our group and went looking for the dog inspite of suffering from typhoid.
He couldn’t spot the dog as the area was vast. Nikhil and Saurabh went searching the next day at night for couple of hours and spotted the dog but he ran away as she was scared. A third attempt was made on 24th Sep around 5 am when Tony spotted the dog and called Nikhil. The dog was caught in the net with the help of Pashan garden caretakers as well and finally the jar removed. Viraj came all the way from Sinhagad road just to check on the dog that’s when we met him and told the jar is removed.
Everyone heaved a sigh of relief she was fine but scared & was without water or food for 3-4 days.

Whitey is a gentle old dog who sits with his pack on Baner-Pashan Link Road, Pune.
Our volunteer Saurabh saw a big cut on his upper lip one day which was so bad that a chunk of flesh was bitten off.
He and our volunteer Nikhil immediately gave him an antibiotic and a pain killer. Next day they called Dr. Ravi Shedge who does in-spot treatment. He gave him an injection and asked to continue the same meds for next 8 days.
Saurabh gave the meds in chicken-gravy and we are happy to see Whitey completely recovered.
We would urge everyone to do as much on-location treatment as possible. This helps the animal recover faster as he is in his own surroundings and lessens the burden on the already stressed NGOs/clinics.

A Heartwarming and Gracious Act
Fortune's Father Mr Jigneash, his mother Prreeya and his brother Daiwik lost their beloved dog Fortune (their child) on 3 Sep 2023.
On the occasion of 13th day of mourning they wanted to feed community dogs with chicken rice and hence got in touch with Nikhil & Swastik through our friend @clickmehul
We loved the gesture and requested our volunteers Seema & Yogesh to cook chicken rice through their donation.
On 15th Sep, we fed approx. 100 dogs in Baner-Pashan Link Road area with chicken rice and the love of Fortune in every serving.
Jigneash, Prreeya and Daiwik intend to feed 150+ community dogs on the 3rd of every month.
Thanks a lot to The Karria family for such a thoughtful and noble gesture.
And all our love to Fortune who surely is in a better place and we are sure he would be very happy by this noble act. ❤️🙏
Food Donation
Mr Rajeev Nayar is one of our volunteers. His beloved dog Rex had passed away on 6 Sep 2022. On the occasion of his death anniversary, Rajeev and his family had a small puja at their home and they donated a dab of Pedigree dog food to us. They wanted to feed our community dogs in Rex’s memory.

Adoption Appeal: Mimu
Mimics is an extremely lovable and cute 4 month old kitten!
He is a mini Garfield in his looks 😊 and friendliest kitten anyone will come across
He has a slight limp in his leg though climbs branches and walls but will make him a bit difficult to survive on the road.

Dog Food Donation
Our volunteer Nikhil’s good friends, Siddharth and Romma, have graciously donated us one month of food for 10 dogs!
Siddharth and Romma live in Odisha and do a lot for the community animals in their area. They are pet parents to a cute dog named Hope. On the occasion of Hope’s bday, Siddharth & Romma wanted to do something for the community dogs. They contacted Nikhil and offered to sponsor 1 month’s food for 10 dogs!

BASANTI is an abandoned cat, came in front of my society a bit more than a month ago... she is now pregnant and cats and dogs are attacking her. Unfortunately, she is not equipped to protect herself or babies, i gather :(
I brought her to my window 2 days ago, and she sleeps there, but society cats are attacking her there too.
Would be lovely to get a foster till the babies come. After that we can get the kittens adopted and Basanti can go back to her original area and get spayed (ill do all that).

Hematoma case
Our volunteer Nikhil saw this community dog on Link Road with a pretty bad looking infection on his ear which was making the dog pretty uneasy. If not attended, it could have grown very serious with possible maggots infection as well. We immediately took an admission in @petsforcepune and called @joshiswwapnil PetTaxi to transport him to Petforce. He was difficult to catch but Nikhil and Tony were finally able to. He received good and proper treatment and care for about a month in Petforce and is now back at his place again with the help of PetTaxi.
We observed for a few days and happy to inform he is totally fine now!

Lucy injury treatment
Lucy is one of the most popular community dogs in this area! She is playful, naughty and mischievous!
Our volunteer Pankaj @pankaj_cb5 saw her limping due to a wound on her hind leg. He got her checked with a vet on location who gave an injection as it should not get aggravated or get maggots. She had to be applied ointment for next 10 days.
Pankaj applied ointment which was a task because she is so naughty!
Lucy’s wound is now completely healed and we avoided a potential aggravation of it due to timely treatment.
We urge everyone to treat dogs on the spot if possible as that helps the dog recover faster as it’s in his comfort zone and also lessens burden on the NGOs/clinics.

Senior dog maggots case
A Good samaritan Savita @savi_kamath_ informed our volunteers Saurabh & Nikhil about a community dog on Baner-Pashan Link Road with serious maggot wound inside his legs. They immediately checked the dog and found he had an injury which seemed not attended for a long time and had developed maggots. The dog was old, in distress and extremely low on energy. We immediately took an admission in @petsforcepune and sent him with the help of @joshiswwapnil PetTaxi.
He was treated for the wound and was in care for a month as he is a senior dog.
Happy to see him back to his place fit and fine!
Senior dogs are as much special and loving as puppies, urge everyone to take special care of these pure souls!

Sandy is one of our most energetic and naughty community dogs. Ranga saw her very inactive and not her usual responsive self one night while feeding. She was also limping and not eating well.
We decided to observe for 2 days but after no improvement, Nikhil and Ranga took her to the @5th_sense_animal_health_care clinic. Dr. Bharat examined and found she had tick fever. He recommended medicines for 20 days for twice a day. Ranga,Nikhil and Saurabh made sure she was given all her doses through food everyday as tick fever is a serious health scare.
Happy to inform that Sandy is now completely recovered and back to her usual energetic and happy self!
We decided to treat her on the spot everyday as she was healthy and not required to be admitted. We urge everyone to treat the dogs on the spot if possible. This ensures little help to the animal NGO’s and hospitals which are already over burdened. Also avoids any potential infection the dog might get if treated in a hospital.

Oreo is a few weeks old extremely cute puppy from Sus Gaon, Pune. An onlooker saw a reckless driver hit him and run away. He contacted our volunteer Tony who immediately went and saw Oreo crying and badly injured on his legs.
He literally put Oreo in a box and took him to 5th Sense clinic to Dr Bharat on his bike! With his primary treatment on, Nikhil took an appointment in @makenewlifengo and called Ashok Desai’s @shiuu__23 pet taxi for transport.
Post a successful surgery, very happy to inform that Oreo is now out of danger and on path to recovery!
We don’t have words to express the gratitude and appreciation for Tony’s dedication, commitment, efforts and above all his love for animals. ❤️🙏
But now we have an urgent appeal for his adoption as it’s very risky to drop him back on the same location . He will be vaccinated and dewormed. He is a total fighter, needless to say very loving and absolutely deserves a caring loving home.

Blackie: Treatment of suspected tvt
This is a recent case of Blackie who is a female community dog living near the glass factory in Sus area. Our volunteer Rupali @___rupali26 while feeding her and other dogs spotted a lump and thought it might be tvt and hence immediately informed on our group. We checked Blackie and contacted and informed the factory workers about our suspicion and that would admit her for treatment. @joshiswwapnil PetTaxi was called to pick Blackie and she was admitted in @petsforcepune .
She was treated in Petsforce and a serious health scare was avoided due to the attention and alertness of Rupali. We used Ashok Desai’s @shiuu__23 pet taxi to drop her back to same location.
We urge all volunteers to regularly check your community dogs for ticks, lumps, excessive drooling or not eating food. Timely diagnosis and treatment can avoid a potential major issue happening.
