Diwali is a festival that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. According to Hindu mythology, in the Treta Yuga, the evil Ravana abducted innocent Sita in his chariot, Pushpak. Lord Rama defeated Ravana and saved Sita. Upon his return, the whole of Ayodhya lit lamps as a symbol of the victory of Lord Rama.
We follow this tradition till date and celebrate Diwali to commemorate the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.
But in this Kali Yuga, does light really triumph over darkness, is good really victorious over evil? Everyday evil Ravanas come speeding their Pushpak vehicles and hit, maim, and kill tiny innocent Sitas. So, what are we celebrating Diwali for?
This video is a story of such a tiny Sita, fondly named Bournvita, but how it draws to its end depends on how you want it to end, evil winning over good or good vanquishing over evil?
