Basics of pairing Cockatiels

Many a times I get question - "What is the best pair to breed high quality mutation chicks"
Well there is no mutation which is high or low as per me however pairing completely depends on chicks mutation expectations of a breeder (i personally do promote natural pairing though)

Here are very basic level pairing details
1. Patch*Patch (all/any patch mutations)
2. WF*WF(all/any WF mutations)
3. WF*PF(all/any WF/PF mutation )
4. WF*CF(all/any WF/CF mutations)

You can pair any mutation as per your wish but these are pairing preference as per breeders

Patch/Common are paired with patch/common
White face with White Face
White face with Pastel face
White face with Cream face

When you have any visual confusion in a mutation always learn from wild type
Compare - common grey, wf grey, pf grey and cf grey visually you will understand the difference

All mutations like pearl, cinnamon, lutino, etc can be seen in these types of facial variations - patch, wf, pf, cf

Eg of Patch*Patch pairing (all/any patch mutations)
Common grey * Patch Lutino
Patch Lutino * Patch Pearl
Patch Cinnamon * Patch Pied
