Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, also known as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, his birthday is celebrated as a festival on "14th April" all over the world including India. This day is also celebrated as ' Equality Day' and 'Knowledge Day' because Dr.Ambedkar, who struggled for *equality* throughout his life, is considered a symbol of equality and knowledge.
Dr. Ambedkar is known all over the world for his human rights movement constitution maker and his great scholarship and this day is celebrated to pay respect to him.
Dr. Ambedkar's first birth anniversary was celebrated by Sadashiv Ranpise on 14 April 1928 in Pune city. Ranpise was a follower of Dr.Ambedkar. He started the practice of Ambedkar Jayanti, and on the occasion of Bhima Jayanti, Babasaheb's statue was taken out many times from the chariot and also on the camel by keeping it in the ambari of the elephant.
Every year on Dr. Ambedkar's birthday, crores of his followers gather to greet him at many local places like his birthplace Bhim Janmabhoomi (Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Madhya Pradesh), Buddhist Dhamma Deekshasthal Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur, his Samadhi Sthal Chaitya Bhoomi, Mumbai . Dr. Ambedkar is honored by celebrating his birth anniversary in Government offices and Buddhist monasteries of India. Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated in more than 100 countries of the world.
Google greeted Dr. Ambedkar on his 124th birth anniversary in 2015 by featuring his picture on its 'Google Doodle'. This doodle was in the countries of the three continents.
Tributes to Bharat Ratna, Constitution maker Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 132nd birth anniversary.
