What should I do when a dog chases me while I’m biking?
Stop and get off your bike or remain seated.
Most dogs chasing bikes chase bikes because of the movement: they don't recognise a human being on the bike, they just see things moving, which triggers their hunting instinct.
If you stop and get of your bike, all of a sudden there is nothing moving anymore and a human being appears, there is no point in hunting any more so they stop and go away.
Besides: most dogs run faster than most people cycle, there is no way getting rid of them by riding harder, and dog's teeth trying to get a hold of a human leg in motion will cause terrible damage. You're better of standing still with your bike between you and the dog.
The golden rule is no eye contact, no voice and no touch and keep calm!

10 THINGS YOUR DOG WOULD TELL YOU...

DO READ and REMEMBER TO SPAY/NEUTER ALL THE DOGS AND CATS THAT TOUCH YOUR LIVES - irrespective of the fact whether they are your pets or strays/community animals!

MYTH: My dog will put on weight after spay/neuter
FACT: It is proven that dogs dont put on weight after neutering/spaying. They do become calmer. So maintaining a diet and regular exercise will maintain his/her weight too.

MYTH: I want my dog to have one litter at least to keep her/him healthy
FACT: Medical evidence indicates just the opposite. In fact, evidence shows that females spayed before their first heat are typically healthier and are at lower risk for breast cancer and uterine infections. In case of males reduced risk of testicular cancer and prostrate problems. Abroad, many veterinarians now sterilize dogs and cats as young as 12 to 16 weeks of age.

MYTH: I don't want my male dog or cat to feel like less of a male
FACT: Pets don't have any concept of sexual identity or ego. Neutering will not change a pet's basic personality. He doesn't suffer any kind of emotional reaction or identity crisis when neutered.

MYTH: But my dog (or cat) is so special, I want a puppy (or kitten) just like her/him
FACT: A dog or cat may be a great pet, but that doesn't mean his/her offspring will be a carbon copy. Professional animal breeders who follow generations of bloodlines can't guarantee they will get just what they want out of a particular litter. A pet owner's chances are even slimmer. In fact, an entire litter of puppies or kittens might receive all of a pet's (and her mate's) worst characteristics.

MYTH: I'll find good homes for all the puppies and kittens.
FACT: You may find homes for all of your pet's litter. But each home you find means one less home for the dogs and cats in shelters / on the streets who need good homes. Also, in less than one year's time, each of your pet's offspring may have his or her own litter, adding even more animals to the population. The problem of pet overpopulation is created and perpetuated one litter at a time.

For female animals desexing makes certain cancers, such as breast, ovarian, uterine cancer, very unlikely and will remove the possibility of pyometra (uterine infection). For males desexing will greatly lessen the chance of testicular and prostate cancers.

Desexing your pet / street animal is an important aspect of giving him or her a long and healthy life. Lastly, but not the least - you will have a better dog/cat to deal with in terms of temperament and behavior.

*Last freagle girl for Adoption*

On July 1,2020 around 1 pm , 9 little beagles stepped out for the first time to walk on a land, they walked under a beautiful blue sky and declared FREEDOM from their laboratory days.

Freagles are laboratory released beagles who lived their entire life from small puppy till they turn 4-4.5 years behind metal cages. What we take for granted like the simplest things is a luxury or for some a world beyond their imagination. They don’t know how to walk on a leash, they don’t know where to p*e or p**p, they get startled with the smallest strange noises, in short everything out there is scary but that doesn’t mean they don’t know how to enjoy their freedom years. They need a family who are patient enough and kind enough to let them grow, teach them and they learn so fastttt. We have our 500 freagles before them to proof the theory that “there is no such thing called age to learn new things and enjoy life”.

Diana is not different. She is the last girl who is left to find her forever home. All her batchmates found such beautiful homes and settled down. I really hope we can together find a home for her too.

Diana is 5 years old, shy, sweet and adorable girl. She will do well in a house with cats n dogs both but no children. She is perfect for working couples and can stay alone for good 7-8 hours. She isn’t toilet trained or leash trained but we will help you to train her. She is a smart girl so we know she will pick up easily.

She is dewormed, vaccinated and spayed (neutered).

Diana is currently in Ahmedabad but we are open for Baroda, Mumbai and Pune as well.

Only criteria - working couple with cat or a dog and no kids.

The travel cost needs to be divided between adoptee n me.

Let’s really really hope we find a beautiful home for this shy and sweet girl of mine. It’s been too long to stay at Retreat n not in a home surrounded by her own family.
