Dear members and vets,
Indian Veterinary Association - Kerala is affiliated to the National IVA Chapter registered at Chennai, in 1967 (The Indian Veterinary Association, S. No. 96/1967). Dr. Chirantan Kadian is the president of the chapter and is recognised by World Veterinary Association, Commonwealth Veterinary Association, NITI Ayog (NGO Darpan), GoI, ICAR and the Indian Veterinary Journal, official journal of IVA. The details can be verified in the website of these organisations (worldvet.org; https://www.commonwealthvetassoc.com; https://ngodarpan.gov.in; ivj.org.in)
In 2019, another group managed to get registration at Delhi with same name as Indian Veterinary Association (S/2093/2019), producing an affidavit that no other association in similar name was existing anywhere in the country. Now there is a case pending at Delhi High court regarding this. As per their bylaws submitted for registration, there is no provision for affiliating state associations, and the membership is open to any individual (not exclusively for vets) on payment of membership fee.
As you are aware, Indian Veterinary Association - Kerala is the single professional association in Kerala representing all veterinarians of the state. We are delivering services in a commendable way, to all categories of vets in the state. It is highly deplorable that a group is trying to create confusion among our members by misusing the logo and name, which we have been using for long, since the formation in 1979. The legal formalities are being explored in this regard.
All our members and veterinary fraternity are requested to be aware and oppose the action of the vested interest group to upset the activities of IVA Kerala. We are duty-bound to serve you in a better way in coming days, also.
