Hello everyone, it's been some time, and we're excited to introduce you to the amazing woman behind Freshwoof, our co-founder Saakshi.

As a young woman who shared 18 years of her life with dogs and cats, deeply passionate about animals, Saakshi founded Freshwoof after being inspired by her own dog, Ruby, who overcame severe allergies and illness through the power of plants on a plant-based diet, after 3 years on a meat-based one. Ruby lived for 16.5 years before bidding us a heartbreaking goodbye (her last picture in the 2nd slide).

With her certification in canine nutrition, Saakshi felt a lack of healthy plant-based options for dogs and a general lack of awareness among pet parents, which often deprives pets of the benefits that plant-based superfoods can provide. Saakshi has made it her life's mission to provide pets with safer and better plant-powered products and education to pup-parents to help our new age dogs live their best lives. She wants every dog to experience the magic of plants through Freshwoof, just like Ruby did.

We are thrilled to have Saakshi leading Freshwoof. Her passion for making pets healthier is contagious, and we cannot wait to bring more plant-powered goodness to you for your pets! 🌱🐶🐾

Treats are an essential part of positive reinforcement and rewards-based training, but you also need to be mindful to balance your dog’s treats with their overall daily calories. Too many treats has the potential to contribute to obesity, nutrient imbalances if overused and reduced interest in the actual food.
There is a 10% rule for dog treats!

Treats should make up no more than about 10% of your dog’s daily calories.

For example, if your dog needs 400 calories per day, they should have no more than 40 calories from treats, with the other 360 coming from their normal food.
