Adoption story of Leo and her hooman snigdha

I'm pet parent of two doggos -
Goofy and Leo
Leo is an indie and i adopted him in February
Since a long time my friends and I noticed one of a stray dog of our colony used to give birth almost everyother year and all her pups used to die due to several reasons
So this year we took the initiative to find forever home for all the 5 pups of her
We were able to get 4 pups adopted and only Leo was left so I decided to adopt him

A bowl of water can save a life!

Summers are cruel to all alike, but birds and stray animals find it harder to survive the heat without shade or water to quench their thirst. Birds fly for miles to get to a water body and stray animals are no different. In summers, they struggle for water.

Though it might not be possible to provide water and food to all the stray animals and birds, but it is well within our reach to make a difference!

To start with, keeping a bowl of water in your terrace, balcony or near your doorway is a good idea to do little noble work for the starving birds and stray animals.

I was working as a volunteer in an NGO of bhilai
We received a case from ruabhanda that someone has abandoned 2 pups and their mother , unfortunately mother dog has died , the pups were few days old and are infected from maggots
We brought them and one of my friend decided to foster both of them but one of the pup wasn't able to survive as his body was damaged by maggots in great extent
Then I fostered jamu after taking good care of her for several weeks she recovered beautifully and now she was ready to be adopted we posted numerous stories about jamu's adoption as she was such a adorable and jolly kid she got adopted we couldn't be more happier for her it's like we brought her from such a miserable place and now she is living the life she truly deserves
But her adopter's turned out to be our worst nightmare we got to know they used to beat jamu and keep her outside the house at 4 am in morning in the freezing cold
We took her back from them
At the time I was fostering jamu again and she suffered from an injury due to which she has to undergo a really painful surgery for it
I realised how indie pups have to suffer so much since their young age as compared to the breed ones
Jamu has recovered completely
But now I couldn't trust anyone with her that he/she who'll be adopting jamu again will take care of her the way I do ? What if someone makes her suffer again ?
I had a lot of questions which couldn't be ignored no matter what
So my family members and I decided to adopt her as she was happiest with us and will always be and as all of us were really fond of jamu's presence in our life's and family

Trivia of the Day

It was 2018 , when I came back to my hometown after pursuing my higher studies 
At the time things were really unpredictable most of the time I used to stay in my little bubble 
Like everyother day I went for a evening walk while returning I saw a pup sitting in front of my house as I never had a furry friend before or took care of any animal in past only thing I knew was to give the pup some food she must be hungry I gave her a chappati she picked it up went on the side and ate it as I was watching her wondering how adorable and simple creatures animals are 
On the next day I noticed the pup was sitting again on the same spot seemed like she was waiting for me  , pup overjoyed after she saw me 
Out of curiosity I thought where she used to stay all day is that place safe for her?
I followed her and noticed she was living in church that was right in front of my house 
We always used to go for walks together 
While returning I always purchased a pack of biscuit for her which she used to grab in her mouth and have it after we came back to home 
She was a quick learner it took her less time no time to get used to all the things I taught her 
I remember she used to love playing with other animals.I always had this thought of adopting her in the back of my mind , my parents saw my love for her they agreed to adopt her but were against with the thing of keeping her inside the house throughout the day.
She bought so much bliss in my life so I named her lucky as any person would be lucky to have her in their life 
Now it's been 4 years I'm hooman dad to lucky and laali 
Laali is Lucky's child  
Lucky has given birth to pups in past but none of them were able to survive so laali is an exception 
Even in case of laali we were not sure whether she would be able to  survive even vets told me that everything depends on laali now  but laali proved each one of us wrong and survived 
My parents and I couldn't be more happier for laali and lucky when laali was completely recovered

SGACC is one of the largest shelters in New Delhi, a safe space to over 600 rescues.
