The moment we are told that there will be monitoring, evaluation and grading, most of us crack. However, it is here that our personality shows up.

Our moods, attitudes, and opinions and the way we interact with others, defines how we are, or in short, it defines our personality. Our behavioral characteristics, both inherent and acquired, spell out how we interact at home, office, society, with authorities, etc.

We need to understand individual differences, weaknesses in the behavior and various approaches towards others.

Our next workshop feature is one we did for the Symbiosis Centre For Liberal Arts (SCLA).

Under the Creative Writing course offered by them, ClassApart founder, Ms. Devaki Purohit was asked to conduct a 2-hour session where she talked about her journey as an author (the teacher for the course is a different, permanent one; we only conducted a single 2-hour session).

Everything she had learnt along the way - from the do's and don'ts of writing to editing and proofreading, getting published, starting a career in literature, her experience as a journalist and a lot more - was talked about so that the students could learn as much as possible about creative writing.

While it was only one session, it was a pleasure conducting it!

One of the lastest workshops conducted was a demo session for Dr. D Y Patil B-School, for the students of 'Agriculture' and other departments.

The purpose of the session was to introduce students to Communication Skills and Personality Development.

The session was conducted offline and was a great way for everyone to get to know each other, with a very positive response. It also was the beginning of wonderful new things!

Theory is not of much use if not backed by practical experience.

That is why we decided to have an open-mic event for all personal-batch students at the end of their course, so that they can put what they've learnt to practice.

Coming with no additional cost, our Open Mic events have been conducted both offline as well as online and are organised, hosted and performed at, all by our students, so that they can get actual practical experience when it comes to Public-Speaking and Confidence-Building.

Each student is made to invite 2 to 3 friends so that a big pool of strangers is created for all students. This helps them get comfortable with speaking in front of unknown people.

At the end of the Open Mic, every guest gets a personalised thank-you note as well!

Following the 12 batches we conducted for Delphi Computech for their students, we conducted 2 additional workshops - this time, they were for their staff members, including the trainers and administrative staff.

The candidates were taught everything under the sun from soft-skills to writing skills to grooming, with emphasis given to communication skills in every medium.

The first workshop was a one-day workshop, conducted offline for 8 hours at a stretch. The second follow-up workshop was conducted online for 4 hours.

Both workshops were great fun, full of activities and continuous interaction. (It even got emotional at one point for the candidates)

Taking a look at our next workshop, this was conducted for Lotus Business School, a Management school in Maharashtra.

The workshop was held in a Summit that was happening in the school, with around 150 students actively participating in the activities and games conducted in the session.

Among the next workshops we did is a series of 12 batches, including group batches, one-on-one personal batches and weekend batches.

We started out with personal batches with the primary objective of giving a platform to everyone who faced a lack of self-confidence, had insecurities and had an inferiority complex and welcomed students of different ages. (our youngest student being 12 years old and our oldest being 45)

We even had a junior batch comprising students in the age group 6 to 7 years old and have now started an international batch for a woman in Kuwait!

Although the batches went from offline to online, the biggest plus point has been the extremely low fees (we even provided a 50% off to one student), so that everyone could do the course as these sessions are really expensive in most places.

The course has been such a popular one amongst the batches we conducted that we are now planning on developing a pre-recorded version along with a workbook, so that students can access and learn the course in their own time.

We have also arranged Guest Lectures for these students, along with an Open-Mic session at the end of each batch, so that they can get practical experience after what they've learnt in the course.

Failures are a vital part of this process we call life. One may or may not come across many failures in their life, but we all tend to hold different meanings for them - for some it is a feeling, for some it is a state of being and to some, it is completely material.

The most important part though, is how we deal with them. While we celebrate our achievements and sulk at failures, why are we, at the same time, not humble towards our achievements and willing to learn from our failures?

That's what this blog is about - to look at failure as a lesson to learn from, only to emerge rock solid so that we can continue working towards our achievements.

Our next workshop feature is one we did for a company called Delphi Computech, a leading & award winning SAP Education Partner in India.

Ever since starting out in 2019, over 12 batches have been completed, with the latest one being done earlier this year.

Over 350 students have been trained under these batches on various soft skills, such as Communication, Teamwork, Leadership, Conflict Resolution, Adaptability, etc..

Spanning 16 hours, the course started out as an offline one, with 8-hour sessions every Saturday and Sunday. Once the pandemic began, the course structure was shifted to online with 2-hour sessions over 8 days per week.

It has been a great experience for us interacting with so many different students, all at different stages of their career life, and we look forward to more such sessions!

One of our next workshops conducted was, in fact, a personal batch on "Grammar for Spoken-English."

Thanks to the positive response we received from the corporates for this course, we decided it was time to conduct it on a personal level too!

Meticulously put together by Mrs. Madhuri Purohit, this is a compact yet highly effective 14-hour course that helps an individual get good at grammar not just while reading or writing, but while speaking on-the-spot. Additionally, to retain the fun and uniqueness of the course, there's no byhearting of definitions or meanings involved.

P.S: Initially, when we had just started out with ClassApart in 2019 and wanted to expand the course offerings, Mrs. Madhuri Purohit was the ideal teacher for this course! We're glad she could be there to conduct this.

Conducted in an online setup for a total of 37 hours, this workshop was for a company called Hexagon Nutritions (Nashik branch).

Targetted at top-level decision-makers such as Department Heads and Managers of the company, this workshop focused on:

- Communication Skills, Public-Speaking, Confidence-Building, Grooming and Personality Development (taught by Ms. Devaki Purohit)

- Grammar for Spoken-English (taught by Mrs. Madhuri Purohit)

- Written Business Communication (taught by Ms. Devaki Purohit)

All the sessions were activity-oriented to ensure that the candidates could takeaway something that they could implement in their own lives.

Conducted in an online setup, this workshop was for the placement cell of two colleges: Kaveri College and Symbiosis College of Arts & Commerce (SCAC).

Spread over more than 3 batches, this workshop focused on helping students understand the difference between and the importance of a Job Application letter and a resume and helping them create a resume that showcases their qualities and skills properly.

We're glad to say that, ever since, this has gone on to become a yearly thing at SCAC with a new batch every year.

Conducted in 2019 in an offline setup in Pune, this workshop was a combination of 4 batches for a company called UpThink (education sector).

The batches were focused on training the trainers of the company and were divided into two sets, each with various activities and a practical-learning-centric approach.

The first set - taught by Ms. Devaki Purohit, Founder, ClassApart - focused on Confidence-Building, Public-Speaking, Grooming, American Accent Training and Overall Personality Development while the second set - taught by Trainer, Mrs. Madhuri Purohit - focused on Grammar for Spoken-English (taught in a non-conventional manner).
