3 days and 18 hours is how long it took to rescue Rani. Reduced to nothing by her circumstances she was on the roadside of D-block Ranjit Avenue waiting for her death in extreme pain. It was late in the evening when she was found in a gruesome condition, evident that she had a damaged left eye filled with maggots. Around 8 members of the PFA team rose to the occasion and drove off 27 Kms to Shukarchakk Hospital where the AWCT team and Pawsitive Sanctuary immediately attended her. She started recovering and was stable. However, before she could get sterilized, she was diagnosed with Hernia. Rani needs to undergo a surgery for the same. She is very close to leading a healthy life, we must not let lack of funds get in the way. A small contribution of yours can go a very long way. Please donate and help Rani!

Residents of various colonies across Amritsar declaring Stray Dogs as a menace owing to their mere existence is very common. One of such incidents is what I’m sharing today. A new sense of unity among the Residents of Kabir Park in Amritsar has emerged against the Stray Dogs due to an incident of the dogs barking at a lady passing by, who moved in a complaint at the police station regarding the same. Groups were made and all that was being discussed was the dislocation of dogs. PFA Amritsar unit spoke to the Councillor and the President of Kabir Park and apprised them of the laws and how such actions of dislocation would mean going against law. After a lot of such conversations assurance was given that no dislocation will take place.

The lack of sensitivity among some people can not only prove to be physically but also emotionally torturous to Stray Animals. It is only with thoughtfulness and concern of people in unison that we can bring actual change with empathy and compassion.

Disappointed with the ASI, we move in a complain to the SHO Chheharta, Gurwinder Singh on 27th June 2022, he promises to take an action, but we never hear from him again.

02/07/2022

ASI Daljit Singh, posted at Chheharta Police Chowki, goes on to explain that we all try and defend the law breaker if s/he happens to be our family. We all do that. We SHOULD do that.

So if you call up punjab police for help, and the offender turns out to be their relative, they ll request you to hush up and not move in a complain. Is that so ?

HER BLOOD IS ON OUR HANDS!
On each one of us who wants to shop and bring home a foreign breed.

Hope this stays with you all. Hope it helps you make a kinder decision next time!

We all at .2020 are at a loss for words to describe our pain.

The Dog Breeding Industry thrives on CRUELTY and ABUSE.

This is the price a mother pays to give you cute puppies to carry home and call your own.

An illegal inhuman breeder in Kot Khalsa, kept breeding this girl until she gave up. The .2020 team coaxed him into getting the girl to the where she is currently going through a major surgery.

Pray for the girl.

Gauri Mulekhi, the trustee of People For Animals (PFA) on Saturday sent a legal notice to Uttar Pradesh’s chief secretary over the deaths of mules in Kedarnath. The notice said that authorities have failed to restrict the use of horses and mules to reach religious shrines in Kedarnath.

Imagine being pierced with an iron rod in your abdomen while you are carrying a baby.
What kind of a human being can do this! And why would someone do this!

A family, who is an animal lover and feeds dogs on a daily basis and has got all the dogs of their lane sterilized, called PFA screaming for help.
A man in their neighbourhood, had brutally harmed a pregnant bitch, who was about to deliver, and bleeding profusely.

The police managed to rescue six pitbulls.

According to activists in the knowhow of this sinister circuit, the thoroughbred dogs are trained from an early age and made to kill cats and other animals. The prey is first slashed so that the dog being trained gets to develop a bloodthirsty attitude.

The canines are kept hungry and tied-up, they are then exposed to the bleeding animal which they attack out of necessity and anger.

During the dogfighting tournament, these poor dogs are then injected with near-lethal doses of pain killers so that they keep on ripping the flesh of their opponent while being numb to the pain of the same thing being done to them.

The activists could tip-off the police in time and the cops managed to raid the dog fight venue in time.

5 people have been arrested by the police in connection with the illegal dog fight and gambling racket. There were more people present at the venue but the quickly dispersed upon noticing the approaching police party.

6 dogs have been rescued.

The issue of animal cruelty reared its ugly head in Punjab yet again with Madam Maneka Gandhi and PFA activists Mani Singh and Sukhamrit Singh exposing an illegal dog-fighting racket. The modus operandi of the criminals was in tune with some past cases wherein imported breed dogs were being forced to fight each other and bets being placed on the same.
The illegal dog fight was being organised near Ajnala, Amritsar.

Cruelty and your Taste Buds!

If you think that the chicken that you eat does not face inhumanity, think again.
This person was transporting 12 chickens, their legs tied up, hanging upside down, apart from a few stuffed up in a sack, violating the illegal transport of animals act 1978.

The greatest friend of cruel animal industries is community ignorance.
You DON'T NEED to be an animal welfare officer or an ngo head to raise your voice against animal cruelty.
You all can do it.

A strong woman stands up for herself. A stronger woman stands up for others.

And Smt Manisha Gulati ji, Chairperson, Punjab Women Cell Commission is the biggest example of the same.

When Manisha ji was informed about the threat calls being made for rescuing the dogs from a cruel owner, she spoke to the police and ensured that I am provided security ensuring my safety. But this interaction with her gave me an insight into her personality, where I met a woman so emphathetic, someone who could look beyond SPECIESISM.

Speciesism, the human held belief that all other animal species are inferior, but she is someone who does not believe in this. She felt the pain of the beagle mother, who lost all her babies twice after she delivered and extended all help that was possibly needed to bring justice to the beagle mother.

People like her are rare!

There is so much for everyone to learn from her.
The society needs empathetic leader like her for the world to be a better place for us all.

PFA is immensely grateful for all your love and support Manisha ma'am.
With you being there for the voiceless, we all see a ray of hope for them.
God Bless you and be with you always.

Love and Respect

Met with an accident and was lying on the road for days before this kid was brought to the shelter.
The treatment has begun.
The abscess formed due to injury is being drained and cleaned everyday. The kid is also being given antibiotics and pain relief medications.
Pray for his recovery.
