Went for our usual walk at 6 pm, quiet and getting dark. I saw a lady coming towards us with a big dog. She looked like she was struggling to control it on a harness. For safety, I decided to put all of my dogs in a down, as the footpath wasn’t wide and I wanted her to pass us more easily.
Everything was going smoothly. As she passed, she said, “You have well-trained dogs,” and I replied, “Thank you.” I was waiting until she was at least half a metre away before saying “OK” to my dogs so we could continue walking.
In my mind, that was a solid plan. But clearly, not in hers.
Even though my dogs were in a down, on short leashes (thank goodness), she decided it was a good idea to let her dog sniff mine. Her dog approached Nala from behind, and then went straight to Frankie her Husky gave a full growl right in my dogs’ faces.
Of course, my dogs jumped up. Frankie ended up right under the Husky. I managed to pull both my dogs away and save the situation.
Me: What the f**k? Why didn’t you ask first? Why did you think that was the right thing to do?
Lady: That’s just how Huskies talk.
Me: What the f**k? Your dog just fully went at mine! Keep your f*ing dog close to you!
She didn’t even apologise. She genuinely thought that interaction was normal.
I still believe some people really shouldn’t own dog!
Our dogs are all good no got bitten, but is a good remainder to be aware and to give space to other people and dogs no everyone likes dogs and no every dogs like other dogs or people!
(ASK you can’t get wrong is a yes or no answer)
