Il Centro Veterinario Associato muove i sui primi passi tra le aule dell'universita' di Medicina Veterinaria di Napoli Federico II dove Sergio, Lucia e Salvatore si conoscono. Tutti e tre lavoreranno a stretto contatto per circa 10 anni presso la medesima struttura veterinaria, prima come “studenti tirocinanti”, poi come Medici Veterinari laureati. In questi anni si consoliderà un'amicizia importante che si rifletterà in campo lavorativo, creando i presupposti che porteranno alla realizzazione del progetto del “Centro Veterinario Associato CDS” ( C sta per Covetti -D per Di Caterino- S per Silvestro).
