A little message from us at Archie’s Acres

As we start to wind down for the festive season, we just want to pause and say thank you.

Thank you for choosing Archie’s Acres, for trusting us with your dogs, and for all the friendly chats, wagging tails, muddy paws and laughs along the way this year. It really does mean more than you might realise.

We feel incredibly lucky to be part of your routines, your dogs’ happy places, and those moments where they can just be dogs. No judgement. Just space, freedom, and joy.

As the festive season arrives, we hope you slow things down a little. Take the walks. Enjoy the chaos. Spend time with the people (and pups) you love most.

Here’s to more fresh air, happy dogs and shared moments in 2026.

Season’s greetings and warm wishes

I saw this and, honestly, felt a little too seen.

Pretty sure Archie (and half the dogs who visit the field) have us looking like this rainbow-wigged legend on the daily basis!

Book a slot, save your dignity.
Or don’t… and lean into the clown era with the rest of us.

Why Archie’s Dog Acres?

Archie was the first dog we added to the Harrison family in 2014 we had both had dogs previously but neither of us were quite prepared for Archie! We created a Ginger Nutter don’t really know how as we read the books, did the training and had behaviourists involved. Archie is very particular about who he socialises with both human and other dogs so for the past few years we preserved with trying to ‘fix’ him and then we took the avoidance method, which wasn’t a failsafe as other dogs and their owners wanted to be his friend despite as screaming no.

This meant us driving everyday to secluded places around South Lanarkshire and it became a dreaded chore to walk him and really became a strain on our life. We had always wanted to find our ‘forever’ home with some land, for veg and fruit growing and were fortunate enough to come across a farm with over 8 acres of land just outside of the village of Braehead in South Lanarkshire and decided to bite the bullet.

Why is it called Archie’s Dog Acres? Simple really. It is his playground first and foremost, hence us blocking off our time for the fields each day. The fields are adjoined to our farm we use them everyday and have made them a safe and secure place to exercise and have fun. Archie loves nothing more than sniffing in the long grass, chasing his frisbee along with some agility training. We know the stresses of trying to find a safe place to exercise or train your furry friend and we want to share our new relaxed walks with others.
