Fireworks night isn’t fun for everyone. We love nothing more than watching the sparkles in the sky but the noise puts fear into so many of our animals especially dogs.

The Dogs Trust are asking for tighter firework laws to help protect dogs and other animals. It only takes a couple of minutes to send your MP a message — I’ve just done mine.

please add your voice. 🐾✨

Every year, thousands of dogs across the UK are left terrified by the unpredictable bangs and booms of fireworks.

Luckily, at Archie’s, that kind of chaos is encouraged. Room to run, roll, chase, and completely ignore commands (in the best possible way), until it is time to go home 🐾

Let them be dogs.

🐾✨ It’s National Walk Your Dog Week ✨🐾

This week is all about raising awareness of just how important daily walks are — not just for our dogs’ health, but for ours too. Fresh air, a change of scenery, time to switch off… and most importantly, that chance to strengthen the bond we share with our four-legged friends.

To celebrate, we’d love to see your favourite moments from walks at Archie’s Dog Acres. 📸🐶

Pop a photo of your dog enjoying their time here in the comments below and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a FREE session at Archie’s during October.

Let’s fill this space with waggy tails, muddy paws and happy faces — a perfect reminder of why walking our dogs is one of life’s simplest joys. 🌿🐾

Friday funny

Sometimes we throw a ball for our dogs… and sometimes we throw them a ball.
🎩🐾

At Archie’s Dog Acres, we like to think every dog deserves their moment to shine — whether that’s racing across the field, sniffing out adventures, or just looking fabulous while doing it.

Bring your four-legged friend along and let them have the freedom (tuxedo optional).

Happy weekend 🐾

We love hearing feedback like this:
✨ “Thank you, we had a great time on our first visit. Super to practice some retrieves in cover, hunting patterns and heelwork and stops down the bottom fence line. We will definitely be back.” ✨
That’s why Archie’s Dog Acres exists – safe space, real training, big views, happy dogs.

Why Archie’s Dog Acres?

Archie was the first dog we added to the Harrison family in 2014 we had both had dogs previously but neither of us were quite prepared for Archie! We created a Ginger Nutter don’t really know how as we read the books, did the training and had behaviourists involved. Archie is very particular about who he socialises with both human and other dogs so for the past few years we preserved with trying to ‘fix’ him and then we took the avoidance method, which wasn’t a failsafe as other dogs and their owners wanted to be his friend despite as screaming no.

This meant us driving everyday to secluded places around South Lanarkshire and it became a dreaded chore to walk him and really became a strain on our life. We had always wanted to find our ‘forever’ home with some land, for veg and fruit growing and were fortunate enough to come across a farm with over 8 acres of land just outside of the village of Braehead in South Lanarkshire and decided to bite the bullet.

Why is it called Archie’s Dog Acres? Simple really. It is his playground first and foremost, hence us blocking off our time for the fields each day. The fields are adjoined to our farm we use them everyday and have made them a safe and secure place to exercise and have fun. Archie loves nothing more than sniffing in the long grass, chasing his frisbee along with some agility training. We know the stresses of trying to find a safe place to exercise or train your furry friend and we want to share our new relaxed walks with others.
