Starting today our "Squeaky Clean" and "Dog Beauty Treats" Dog Wash brands are now available at Marlene's Natural Foods Market. They are the oldest Natural Foods Chain in our region (they opened their doors in 1976!) We are so grateful and proud to be in their stores. Also, our new book "Dog Beauty Treats" and our Dog Wash are currently featured in their monthly magazine "Marlene's Sound Outlook".
We will be teaching a class at Marlene's on July 14th (6:30pm) on Homemade Organic Dog Grooming using recipes from our book. We hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone that came out to Fancy Dog put on by Seattle Art Museum and The Seattle Humane Society at the Olympic Sculpture Park. We were excited to see our patented Pet Feathers (feather boa collars) on about 100 dogs. The event was to support the Humane Society's "Pet Project", a special program designed to support patients battling HIV & Cancer who cannot sustain costs of food & veterinary care for their pets & who rely on their best friends for more than just companionship. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed their support!

What makes me a great veterinarian? I am not really sure its just one thing alone. I can tell you that I love what I do. After 10 years of practicing veterinary medicine, I still would not change a thing. Many of my vet friends are burnt out at this point, but I can honestly say that I am not. I really care about my clients as well as their pets. That means something. I listen to my clients and work with them to care for their pets. I am a “people” person as well as a pet lover.

Who am I? No one title defines me. I am not only a veterinarian, but I am also a mother as well as a military wife. I have 3 full time jobs and again I wouldn’t change a thing.

A little bit about me. I am originally from a small town called Cottonport located in Louisiana. I was raised as a true Cajun. I attended college at Louisiana State University and graduated with my DVM in 2002. Geaux Tigers!! I have been a military wife for 12 years and I am a mother to a very active 8 year old. Life keeps me pretty busy but I love every minute of it.

Recently, I was featured in Fido Friendly magazine. (May-June 2010 issue “Alternative Healing”). I have also been editing a book on dog diseases. On some Saturdays, you can find me at local pet stores educating pet owners in what we like to call “Ask the Vet Seminars”. This year, I was also interviewed for a segment on King 5 News.

Starting next week our Squeaky Clean Dog Wash will be available at the 'Very Pet Friendly' Edgewater Hotel. The Edgewater rests atop Pier 67 on Elliot Bay and is Seattle's original (and still remains as Seattle's ONLY) waterfront hotel. In 1964, during their first world tour, The Beatles stayed at the Edgewater hotel, newly completed for the World’s Fair. At the time, no other hotel in the city would accept The Beatles as guests; however The Edgewater happily welcomed them.
