Metastatic nasal lymphoma in a mandibular lymph node aspirate from a cat. Note the large neoplastic cells (long arrows) in amongst a background of mixed residual lymphocytes, which are mostly small lymphocytes (short arrows) with a few plasma cells (arrowheads). The neoplastic lymphocytes were identifiable by their uniformity - large cells, fine chromatin and light blue cytoplasm. The fine chromatin and light blue cytoplasm helped distinguish them from reactive lymphocytes or cells from the germinal centers, which typically have more clumped chromatin and deep blue smooth cytoplasm.
