🤗 Meet Prof. Filippo Maria Martini, our esteemed speaker at Intrauma V Symposium!

👨‍⚕️ Prof. Filippo Maria Martini 🇮🇹: DVM.

Filippo Maria received his D.V.M. from the University of Parma in 1993. He attended the Veterinary Surgery Unit of the University of Munich, Germany, under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Ulriche Matis. He holds a PhD in small animal orthopedics.
He is currently Associate Professor in Veterinary Surgery and Traumatology at the University of Parma, owner of the martini veterinary clinic and co-founder of Ortovet.
He is author of publications on national and international journals and author of the textbook “Joint diseases in dogs and cats” (Poletto Editor).
Member of the Italian Society of Veterinary Orthopedics (SIOVET) of which he has been Chairman and Board member since December 2004.

🤗 Meet Dr. David L. Dycus, our esteemed speaker at Intrauma V Symposium!

👨‍⚕️ Dr. David L. Dycus 🇺🇸: DVM, MS, CCRP.

Dr. Dycus attended Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine for his veterinary degree, Auburn University for a small animal rotating internship, and Mississippi State for a combined surgical residency and Masters degree.
Dr. Dycus is frequently asked to lecture locally, nationally, and internationally. He has given over 300 continuing education lectures and taught over 150 laboratories. He has published numerous research articles and authored or co-authored several book chapters. He is the co-editor of the textbook: Complications in Canine Cranial Cruciate Ligament Surgery.
He is the founder and surgeon at Fusion Veterinary Orthopedics where he has a focus on complex and minimally invasive fracture repair, arthroscopy, 3D printing, total joint replacement, sports medicine, as well as angular limb deformity correction. In addition, he is the founder of Ortho Vet Consulting, an educational consulting and orthopedic coaching service.

Dr. Simcock is a board-certified small animal surgeon and co-owner of Southpaws, a leading multi-site referral hospital in Melbourne. He specialises in advanced orthopaedic procedures, including total hip replacement and complex limb deformity correction.

Rosario graduated in Veterinary Medicine, Naples (Italy), in 2005. His training includes a rotating internship, a surgical internship and an ECVS residency in Paris (France). He worked in both academia and private practice in France and The Netherlands. Since 2016 he works in Pride Veterinary Referrals (United Kingdom), where is currently Head of Surgical Department. 🤗 Meet Dr. Svetoslav Hristov, our esteemed speaker at Intrauma V Symposium!

👨‍⚕️ Dr. Svetoslav Hristov 🇧🇬: DVM, AVSB CERTSAS.

A highly experienced veterinary surgeon specializing in orthopedics and neurosurgery for small animals. With a Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine from Trakia University (2005) and extensive postgraduate training, Dr. Hristov holds senior surgical positions at clinics in Bulgaria (Elpida OrthoCare) and Greece (Agathangelidis Veterinary Clinic, CuraAnimals).
He is an active educator and leader in the field, serving as an AOVET regional faculty member (since 2017) and chair (since 2023), founder of the Bulgarian Association of Veterinary Orthopaedics, and board member of the Bulgarian small animal veterinarians' association. His teaching engagements include AOVET courses across Europe (e.g., Budapest, Warsaw, Germany) on fracture management and spinal disorder techniques.
He has been a recognized speaker at numerous international conferences across Turkey, Romania, and other countries from 2010 to 2024, sharing his expertise in veterinary orthopedics and surgery. His research contributions include significant publications on topics such as external skeletal fixation, tibial nonunion treatments in dogs, and the clinical outcomes of cementless total hip prostheses, featured in respected journals like Kafkas Univ Vet Fak Derg and Pak. Veterinary Journal. His work reflects a strong commitment to advancing veterinary surgical techniques and improving animal care.

🤗 Meet Dr. Kevin Benjamino, our esteemed speaker at Intrauma V Symposium!

👨‍⚕️ Dr. Kevin Benjamino 🇺🇸: DVM, DACVS-SA.

Kevin Benjamino received his DVM degree from The Ohio State University in 2004. He attended specialty internships prior to his small animal surgery residency from 2004-2006. He attended a 3-year surgical residency at MedVet Medical and Cancer Centers for Pets in Columbus, OH, USA from 2006-2009 and achieved diplomat status with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 2012.
He is currently an associate surgeon at MedVet Medical and Cancer Centers for Pets (Columbus, OH). He is also active in the training of veterinary surgical residents at MedVet. Kevin lectures for both general practitioners and specialists nationally and internationally. He has and continues to publish clinical research and authors various veterinary texts in orthopedics.

👨‍⚕️ Dr. Luís Chambel 🇵🇹: DVM.

Graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Lisbon in 1989. With a passion for orthopedics and neurology, he co-founded Vetoeiras, Veterinary Hospital in 1993, where he currently serves as a partner and oversees the orthopedic and neurology department.
His dedication to advancing his skills led him to complete an Externship Program in surgery at Cornell University in the USA. Since 1997, he has pursued professional development through internships at renowned orthopedic and neurosurgery centers across Spain, Italy, France, and Great Britain.
In addition to his international experience, has actively sought further knowledge, having completed over 40 practical courses in orthopedics outside of Portugal since 1996. He believes in the importance of sharing his expertise and has served as a guest lecturer at the Lusófona University, teaching Pathology and Surgical Clinic from 2008 to 2015. Furthermore, he contributed as a trainer in the Postgraduate Program in Orthopedic and Neurological Surgery at the Lusófona University from 2011 to 2014.
He has served as Deputy Secretary of the Association of Small Animal Veterinarians (APMVEAC), founded the Orthopedic group GITOV and has been a member of the European Society of Veterinary Orthopedics and Traumatology (ESVOT) since 2000, as well as a member of AO.

👨‍⚕️ Dr. Jan Hnizdo 🇨🇿: Graduated in veterinary medicine at the Justus Liebig Uni. Giessen, 2000.

1994-2000 veterinary medicine at the Justus Liebig Uni. Giessen, graduate 10/2000 .
Surgical internship at the university of Leipzig (Dep. small animal surgery) and at the veterinary university of Bern, Switzerland (Vet-swiss, surgical clinic).
2001 practicing in Czech Republic.
2001-2003 surgeon at vet. hospital AA- Vet, Prague
2003 founding Animal Clinic Praha since then head surgeon of the clinic with specialization in orthopedic and oncologic surgery.
ESVOT board member since 2025.
Publications: authored over 60 veterinary papers in Czech vet journals as well as in international journals as coauthor. About 20 herpetological papers in czech and international journals.
2011 Herpetomedical textbook: “Medical Care of Turtles and Tortoises” Hnízdo, Pantchev (eds), Chimaira Verl. Ffm.
Since 2006 frequent speaker on national and international meetings in Czech Republic (KVL, CSAVA) and abroad (ESVOT congress / ECVS congress, Intrauma symposiums / GEVO, AMVAC, SSAVA, DVG - ARAV congress, WSAVA, USAVA etc).
Interest in limb alignment, joint replacement and arthroscopy. Participated on the development of several implants and prostheses.
