I think you'll all agree it's a warm one 🥵and it's only going to get warmer, here's some tips.....
🌞 Don't walk your dogs in the heat of the day. Tarmac, paths retain a lot of heat and can scorch paws
☀️ Plenty of fresh water avaliable for all pets
🌤 Cooling aids for your pets. E.g cooling mats, bottles filled with water (can lie against them), wet towels
🌅 If you suspect your pet may have heatstroke call your veterinary surgeon immediately

Rescued dogs need a lot of patience and understanding. We rescued Shaun over 9 years ago from Morgans Dog Rescue run by truly amazing people. Please Rescue, don’t buy. X

A lovely Sunday morning topic! 🚽

Yesterday, Fifi wee’d on the floor. Tomorrow, she will probably do the same thing. Why? Fifi is a newly rescued dog - she is scared, she is confused, she doesn’t know where the toilet is yet! Heartbreakingly, immediately after her little accident Fifi raced off in panic and cowered. Perhaps someone shouted at her before, maybe even hit her? If only she could tell us.

We let Fifi calm down and watch us clean up, we spoke to her softly and assured her everything is ok - we don’t tell doggies off in our house, we shower them with love until they trust us enough to be receptive to training. When your new rescue dog wee’s on the floor, please don’t scowl at them - they don’t understand what they’ve done wrong. Please don’t shout at them - they just need some help to learn. Instead, clear up and move on.

As you’ll see in both our fostering and adoption handbooks - accidents are to be expected. So arm yourselves with patience, understanding ... and lots of kitchen roll!
