Foster needed!
Zeus is currently "rescue-only" at the shelter due to his shy nature, meaning he can’t be adopted directly by the public. To give him a chance, a rescue is needed to step in, but this requires a dedicated foster home.

Without a rescue and a foster, Zeus’s chances of leaving the shelter are slim. We want to help him, but we can only do so with the support of a foster home.

About Zeus:
• Breed: Lab/Dobie mix (according to his notes)
• Age: 3 years old
• Housebroken: Yes.
• Dogs: Great with other dogs—excited but calm and friendly.
• Cats: Hesitant around cats but shows no aggression.
• Leash Training: Walks very well on a leash and is easy to handle.
• Commands: Knows sit, paw, down, stay, and come.
• Play: Enjoys dog toys, playing fetch, and will let you take the ball out of his mouth.
• Behavior: Allows the removal of dog bones with no issues.

Zeus would do best in a low-traffic, quiet home. He is shy and fearful of new people, but once he warms up, he will be your best friend. He loves to cuddle.

Freedom ride face!!! Huckleberry just took his freedom ride from the small North Jersey holding facility (iykyk how much these babies need out of there!). He is going to the vet and then going to foster! This was another successful team effort, between those networking to get him noticed, finding transport, the volunteer transporters, help with getting him vetted, the foster home, and everything in between! Thank you everyone who helped Huck take his freedom ride!

We were able to get Jacob safely to foster from the same small animal control, and we know it’s a big ask, but we need help again!

‼️TRANSPORT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Huckleberry. Again - this is his way to get safety out and into a foster home. 😩 this shelter has no volunteers to walk the dogs, no vets to even check them out, not much rescue help, etc.

Everyone wants her babies but no one wants her!

Mama Dior is house broken, dog friendly, people friendly, walks amazing on the leash, crate trained, follows commands like come, no and sit. she loves being outside, LOVES to snuggle, she has soo much love to give. she thinks she is a lap dog but is still gentle. She loves bones and toys as she has never had them, she even will take her bones outside. she is happy just being in your company. She scrunches her nose and smiles every time she sees you.

(no food aggression, no toy aggression, no aggression at all. she was submissive when introduced to my kind of aggressive dog)

Need temp foster! For 2 weeks! He’s still in the shelter & we have a foster lined up but cannot start for about 1-2 weeks. He is very neutral with other dogs.

Bronco is around 1-2 years old and still needs a foster to be his lifeline! He is stressed out in the shelter, which means he is, again, another dog who desperately needs out ASAP. Fostering is only temporary. We provide supplies, vetting, and support while you foster. And in Bronco's case, we will definitely throw in a kiddie pool too. You just provide the temporary home. It's like a sleepover with your friend, except the friend has four paws and all the love in the world to give to show how thankful he is for you!

You can meet him at the shelter beforehand to ensure compatibility. He has shown friendliness towards other dogs and has a great temperament.

We work with veterinarians across NJ and into PA, offering flexibility in foster locations. If you're interested in helping Bronco or have any questions, please reach out. Your support can make a huge difference in his life!

Hi all, we recently had some applications for Bella the GSD and we know everyone is asking for updates! The shelter knows we are trying for her. She can be a little reactive to dogs through her cage so we are preferring she goes to an only dog, long term comitted foster. Once we get dogs vetted, they heal, we learn about them- they get placed for adoption.

‼️The way we can get him out is if someone can pick him up from the shelter in North Jersey this Monday between 8 am - 11 am & do even SOME of this route pictured in FIRST Photo. I am working and can’t!

So we need Monday pick up between 8-11 am in Newark area. Drop off in or near Ocean View NJ.

The reason this has to be done Monday is because I can get Jacob neutered & vetted on Tuesday at our vet in Philly, and then the foster would pick him up from his neuter appt.

OR EVEN BETTER & huge ask, if anyone could hold him for the night and lives relatively close to any town on the way of the SECOND photo, I will pick him up on the way to the vet in the morning (like 6:30-7:30 am)

Can anyone temp foster 4 puppy siblings until Wednesday? (These are the 6 who took their freedom ride yesterday)
We were able to split the 10 puppies between fosters but 4 are still in the shelter. Foster for the 4 can start on Wednesday.
So temp foster needed today til Wednesday. Shelter is completely full and it really only helps them for us to take all of them so it can free up a kennel. Please 🙏🏼

Foster(s) needed. There is 10 puppies in our local shelter (it never ends!!!!) and we want to split them between fosters. We have a foster who will take half of them. Play Style: Shy, prefers calm play and gives space
Cat Friendly: Shows little interest in outdoor cats on walks
Kid Friendly: Very kid-friendly, playful, and affectionate with children

Best Suited For: A family with a fenced yard, ideally with other dogs to guide and play with him.

Crate Trained: Unknown, but has no destructive behavior when left alone. Prefers to sleep most of the day.

House Broken: Yes, no accidents even when left alone for a few hours.

Leash Walking: Walks with a wobble and needs leash training. Uses a front-clip harness, gets excited to meet new people, and pulls toward them.

Tricks: Knows "sit" and "stay" and retrieves his toys on command.

Energy Level: Moderate. Phoenix is a shadow dog, following you everywhere and nudging for pets. He doesn’t jump on people and greets you with a happy stomp and wiggles when you come home.

Behavioral Issues: Occasionally picks up items like shoes for attention but doesn’t chew them. May try to push past you to get out the door but responds well to commands.

Special Needs: Walks with a wobble, though x-rays show no abnormalities. Takes hip and joint supplements twice a day and avoids stairs. Wobble is due to being in a crate for long periods at a young age. Has shown much improvement in our care.

Phoenix is a goofy, loving dog who adores his family. His sweet personality and gentle nature make him irresistible. He loves toys, especially stuffed animals and bones, and enjoys watching TV with his family. His favorite movies include Finding Nemo and 101 Dalmatians. Phoenix deserves a loving home and would make a wonderful companion.
