Eleventh Hour Rescue is made up of dedicated individuals who believe that innocent pets deserve love and a place to live where they are honored and cared for. We rescue dogs and cats at the "eleventh hour"--when they are scheduled to be put to death by shelters who can no longer care for them. We give the dogs and cats all the medical attention they require, a place to live, and through our adopti

on services, a second chance at a happy and fulfilled life. We are affiliated with many like-minded animal groups throughout the United States. We invite caring people to join us as volunteers and graciously accept help in the form of time, supplies and monetary contributions. Eleventh Hour Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization funded exclusively by donations.

Our foster families are an extension of us at Eleventh Hour Rescue. 🧡 They’re the bridge of hope for so many animals who deserve love, even if just for a little while.

Take Saint’s story, for example: he came to us from a shelter in Florida, but life in the kennel was rough for him. He became mouthy, hyperactive, and started to deteriorate, developing behaviors that made him harder to place. But then, everything changed.

In his foster home, Saint found peace. He now sleeps soundly with a smile on his face and is learning his manners, one day at a time. The difference is night and day, and it’s all thanks to his foster family.

This is why our fosters are so important, they give pets like Saint a chance to heal, grow, and shine. 🌟

Meet Miles Lonestar, a small, gentle 12-year-old soul who’s facing a big change. Weighing just about 10 pounds, Miles is a darling to everyone he meets. He thrives on affection and loves snuggling in a cozy lap. He’s a friend to children, adults, and other dogs, radiating kindness wherever he goes. He’s also great on a leash or in a car.

Sadly, Miles is about to lose his foster home due to no fault of his own. For a tender-hearted boy like Miles, the kennel environment can be overwhelming and stressful. It’s simply not the best fit for him, especially in his golden years.

Also 6 months old and 25 lbs, Cletus shares Erkle’s love for ball games and has made huge strides in overcoming his shy beginnings. He’s a quick learner and would blossom in a home with a furry friend and a loving family.

This 7-month-old, 40b Lab mix is friendly, smart, and full of energy. Porter gets along wonderfully with dogs and people. He’s ready to bring love, joy, and playful vibes to his forever home!

🐾 Raisin

A 4-month-old Pit mix puppy weighing 20 lbs, Raisin has a sleek black coat and an adorable charm. Friendly, playful, and sweet, he’ll make a fantastic companion for any home.

Born in a shelter, 3-month-old Reba is a survivor with a playful and loving nature. At just 9 lbs, she’s small but mighty in spirit, ready to share her joy with her forever family.

🐕 Anisa

Born on 7/1/2024, Anisa is a 5-month-old, medium-sized girl who will grow to about 50 lbs. Once kept in deplorable conditions, Anisa is now thriving in foster care, learning crate training, potty training, and leash manners. She loves dogs, cats, and kids and has a submissive play style.

🐾 Big Momma

This 4-year-old, 40-45 lb girl is a calm, sweet, and loving companion. Big Momma adores car rides and is great with dogs, kids, and people. She’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained.

🐕 Chase

At 11 months old and 40-45 lbs, Chase is full of energy and love. This happy, intelligent pup is house-trained, leash-trained, and great with dogs, kids, and people.

🐾 Ivan

This 1-year-old, 40-lb Lab/Doberman mix is a sweet, friendly boy who’s great with dogs, cats, and kids. Ivan is crate-trained, has good leash manners, and loves playing fetch. He’d thrive in a home with another dog and kids to play with.

🐕 Tucker

Tucker is a gentle 4-year-old chocolate Lab mix who’s wonderful with kids and other dogs. At 50 lbs, he’s house-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained—a perfect family companion.

Her owners shared a festive Thanksgiving update: " We had a DNA test done on Remy and she is primarily a mix of coonhound breeds. She's very high energy with a strong prey drive and is very fast.

My sister belongs to a dog walking club and is looking for something to channel her natural instinct - possibly Fast CAT. She loves to snuggle and she's finally learning to share the toys."

20 Years of Rescue: The Hampton Cruelty Case—a Gut-Wrenching Discovery in a NJ Parking Lot 🚗

The horrific discovery of nearly 90 animals—both living and dead—stuffed into a pickup truck and left in a shopping center parking lot rocked the New Jersey rescue community. The extent of the neglect and cruelty in this animal hoarding case is the worst we’ve ever seen, and it still haunts so many of us. When we heard about the abandoned animals, we and other local shelters mobilized immediately, taking as many of the animals as we each could, and working tirelessly to feed, clean, vet, and socialize them before finding them their forever homes. We still get updates on the Hampton animals and we’re happy to report that they are thriving and loved.

20 Years of Rescue: River, Thrown Away like Garbage, then Rescued and Redeemed 🌊

River the kitten came to us after he was found tied up in a trash bag near the Passaic River and left to starve and/or suffocate—whichever came first. We don’t want to think about what kind of suffering River would have endured if that good Samaritan hadn’t found him—and we don’t want to think about the person who would commit such an atrocious act on such a helpless, sweet creature. But, despite his troubling past, River is super sweet and loving, always purring and happy to see everyone. And of course, this playful guy is now thriving in his forever home.

🐶Rosco Russel🐶 2 first names. 100% purebred derp. He’s a dog who you can’t help but instantly fall in with, with his wagging tail and big, goofy grin. Who loves a dog who gives bear hugs? Well meet our McGee! At just a year old, this sweet, happy pup has already known the joy of a loving foster home—but now finds himself in the kennel, through no fault of his own. His foster mom actually cried as she dropped him off. Imagine the heartbreak she must have felt, and the confusion of McGee, so full of love and life, who is suddenly without a family to share it with. McGee is the legit definition of a cuddle bug. He adores snuggling up close, giving bear hugs, and covering you in big, sloppy kisses. He’s super smart, eager to please, and has that perfect balance of puppy energy and gentle affection. On walks, he looks a little reactive, but we think it’s only because he wants so badly to meet new friends. Once he knows other dogs, he gets along beautifully—as he did in his foster home. This silly, loveable boy has SO much potential. He’s waiting for the chance to grow up in a home where he’s cherished, not in a kennel.
