Hi and welcome to LITTLE Big Talkers! My name is Stephanie, and I am the founder and lead SLP. I am a licensed speech-language pathologist in New Jersey and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Iona University and my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Sacred Heart University.
Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience working with both children and adults in various settings. My work with the geriatric population has included roles in acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, and long term care facility. Within these settings I have provided care to individuals with diverse diagnoses such as stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), Parkinson's disease (PD), and dementia, addressing speech and language disorders, swallowing disorders, and overall communication needs. Through tailored interventions, I have supported patients in regaining vital communication and swallowing abilities, helping improve their quality of life.
In pediatrics, I have worked in preschool, elementary and middle school, private practice, and early intervention services, supporting children and young adults from ages 1 to 21 years old. I have addressed a wide range of speech and language challenges, including apraxia of speech, articulation and phonological disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), expressive and receptive language deficits, fluency disorders, and social communication challenges. These experiences have strengthened my dedication to providing personalized caring support that helps both children and their families. I’ve learned that therapy isn’t just about helping the child—it’s also about supporting and teaching their family, especially parents. By giving families the tools and knowledge they need, I aim to create a team approach where we work together, celebrate progress, and help the child grow and succeed,
In addition to my academic and professional experience, I am certified in CPR and AED, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children I work with. I am also PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained, a specialized approach that supports children with motor speech challenges. These certifications enhance my ability to provide comprehensive, effective, and safe care tailored to each child’s unique needs.
My journey into speech therapy was driven by a deep passion for helping people and making a difference in their lives. I believe that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. That’s why my approach to therapy is rooted in creating a welcoming and supportive environment, where both children and their families feel like they truly belong!
At LITTLE Big Talkers, I work closely with families because I know that real progress happens when we’re in it together! I offer ongoing communication to ensure parents feel supported every step of the way. For me, the most rewarding part of this work is helping children gain confidence and seeing the joy and hope that growth brings to their families!
