Jamaica Aquatic Farm Jamaica Aquatics Farm is simply an Aquarium Fish and Plants business located in Kingston, Jamaica. Jamaica Aquatic farm started 2004.

The farm plans to produce ornamental fish species as well as a number of tropical fruit trees and plants. Approximately 80% of ornamental fish are tropical for which there is huge demand in the North American market especially for certain fish species. Jamaica has suitable climatic conditions for production all year round. The Farm plans to breed and supply the local and international ornamental/p

et fish market. Utilizing a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) system. In the system the water is recirculated to lower the water use requirements. Also less land is utilized and there will be a decrease in labour required to carry out tasks and increased bio security. Species of fish currently being looked at for breeding include goldfish, swordtails, mollies, guppies, cichlids and gouramis. Eating species include Tilapia and Basa. We have also been propagating a number of fruit trees species namely Otaheite apples, June Plums. Mangoes, Nasberry, Guineps, Papaya, Jackfruit, Pear, Sour sop, Sweet sop, Pine apple, Star fruit, Tamarind, Star apple, Custard apple, Ackee, Orange, Lime, Guava and a variety of Psalm trees.

Visit the Jamaica Horticultural Societies (JHS) Annual Flower Show on Saturday or Sunday April 27 & 28, 2024.

Here is a great opportunity to come out and see the varying sides of horticulture that is occurring here in Jamaica. That is, one of not only growing of plants for agriculture but also for ornamental and beauty.

Come and see displays of cut flowers, fresh floral plants designs, plants in bloom, orchids, roses, anthuriums, palms, ferns, bromeliads, cacti and other succulents.

The Guest Speaker should be the Minister of Agriculture the Hon. Floyd Green.
