Hyrule Kennels I originally started out fostering strays and abused dogs, now I am raising top show quality pooches. You might see a litter or two up for grabs.

But the compassion and empathy I posses, makes it easier for me to give my pets the best quality of life I possibly can. From Top ranked Champion Show dogs, to the friendly family mutt, I have raised them all. These dogs are raised with love and will require responsible owners. With over 16 years experience of breeding and raising dogs, the original role of my Kennel was once to foster abandoned o

r abused animals. Now this kennel specializes in small breeds, Doberman Pinschers and German Shepherds. Please keep an eye on this page if you enjoy seeing pets growing up and having fun.

Our Story

The love for dogs

I lived in Portmore since I was a baby until I became 11 years old, the houses were in close proximity to one another and the yard spaces were small, this made it impossible for me to have a dog. I would sit up and watch the Westminster dog show every chance I got. I studied breeds and conformation, I even made believe I was a dog for a long time, I would have a make shift tail and walk on all fours and eat from my plate from the floor. I would bark day and night, one day my mom told me that if I continued acting like a dog, I would turn into one. This made me weary, I was only 6 or 7 at the time and I somehow believed her. I didn’t bark for a few days, as I had to seriously contemplate what she said. I made up my mind after about a week, and began to walk on all fours and bark again, I was ready to become a dog, and waited patiently to change, unfortunately I did not transform as my mother had insinuated. I was eight years old when I stumbled across a stray dog one day after school. I lead her home and hid her from my parents, I spent weeks bringing food to her secretly, I would eat half my dinner and sneak the other half outside to feed her. Our bond grew so tight, that my parents decided to keep her despite all odds. Many years later we would move into the country to a sizable piece of land. My neighbors were amused as they watched me and my mongrel crammed ourselves into the back of the van with a box containing her 7 puppies. There was no way i was leaving my little black and brown mongrel behind or any of her little pup pups.

The value of a dog

Titles, superior breeding, age, reproducibility , bone structure and lineage! Of course these all play a major role in assessing the value of your prized pooch, but I have a slightly different way of determining a dog's value. There are two types of values, monetary value and sentimental value. While your pedigrees may incur a pretty penny and are indeed high maintenance, they do however produce high quality pups which most breeders sell for top dollar. A pet/ mongrel on the other hand produces no such quality pups and though they incur pretty pennies too the owner has no way of getting reimbursed from such a dog. So though your family mutt has no fancy titles or proper conformation, he/ she has just great a value like any pure bred dog, it has great value to you and the hearts of your family. Even if they wouldn't ever be permitted to enter the fancy pansy ring at a Westminister dog show, the wet kisses and happy times you share with any dog regardless of the breed is enough to make any dog worth more than any money could buy. Mongrels are by far my favorite breed, because i love the beauty of each breed and I can have all those breeds in just one!
