Combining playing and training is one the things I love doing with Kona.
Here are few things to start you off:
1) Do NOT take your dog off leash if you cannot control them. At this park there humans, dogs and stray cats but as you see Kona is fully focused on me
2) Your dog should know these commands already - this is to solidify your dog’s existing commands
3) Variety! Change up the commands constantly to keep your dog’s mind engaged
4) Have fun! I am constantly giving Kona words of encouragement with every command she does. “Good girl! Great job! Yeessss” are all motivating words for Kona.
5) Patience, patience and more patience! Every dog is different; this is 2 years of work with Kona! We train every day

Doggy push-ups are a fun way to keep your dog on their toes and a great upper body work out!
I love incorporating play with training; it’s makes it so much more fun for dog and human 💗
This means while you’re playing with your dog, have them do random commands such as sit, paw, down, roll over and so on. I usually give one commands every 3-4 throws of the ball. I don’t want Kona to do something every time she brings the ball back to keep it exciting for her.
I find with this kind of training, I am more relaxed and enjoy the time we are spending with each other 🥰

The amazing @doggybitesjo organized such a fantastic hike at the Scandinavian Forest in Jordan. Kona was so happy and is still sleeping it off after 2 days 🤣

I’ve always had a Buddy System wit my dogs, which simply means we are always watching out for each other.
If Kona wanders off, she knows that she should stop, look for me and wait until I catch up. If she stops to sniff something, I will stop and wait for her to catch up. My videos are not the greatest because while I’m filming my focus is still on Kona 🙈 hahahaha my eyes are always on her, especially when she’s off leash.
Kona’s recall and off leash skills are phenomenal- I only need to call her once and she’s right by my side. We have also been working on sit and down from a distance in case it is not safe for her to come back to me, but I want her still. We will share her skills later on this week 🥰

Canine enrichment is a great way for your dog to be mentally stimulated. This works amazingly well with nervous or anxious dogs as it can help calm them down by tiring out their mind doing something healthy and fun.
I love creating fun canine enrichment games for Kona’s meal times. She absolutely loves it and it can take up to 20 minutes for her to finish!
I LOVE the Zogoflex Toppl by @westpawus . It’s wide mouth makes it easier and more dog friendly than most of the brands I’ve tried out.
