🌟💙 Meet Sky, Our Starry-Eyed Girl 💙🌟

Say hello to Sky (or Sora in Japanese), the stunning white kitty with the deepest blue eyes you’ve ever seen ✨🐱 She joined the Kawakuji Rescue family on Sunday night, and she’s already stealing hearts left and right!

Sky has a name, a foster who absolutely adores her, and — believe it or not — she might already have a forever family lined up! 🌈💖 Talk about fast! But even with so much interest, she’ll still undergo Kawakuji’s full quarantine procedure to make sure she doesn’t have any long-term health issues or contagious diseases. So while her future looks bright, her adoption will still be a little ways down the road 🩺🕊️

It’s a perfect reminder that when you apply to adopt with us, the timing might not be instant, but we always keep your application close by. That way, if the perfect match comes along, we can reach out and see if you’re still looking to welcome a new little love into your life.

In animal rescue, timing is rarely perfect. It takes patience, kindness, and an open heart to wait for the right moment and the right kitty (or two!) to join your family 🏡💕

🍽️🐾 Chef Daisy’s Gourmet Adventures 🐾🍽️

Daisy has taken up a brand new venture to help raise funds for her care — the culinary arts! 👩‍🍳💖 This little chef has been hard at work in her oxygen box kitchen, creating bold, daring dishes that defy the imagination (and maybe the appetite) 😹✨

Her specialties include:
🥣 Dry Food Infused Water — Is it soup? Is it flavored water? Only a true master can say.
🐭 Mouse Soup — A delicious pink mouse toy steeped in fresh water, sure to cleanse the palette and delight the senses.
🎨 Dry Food Abstract Spread — Carefully arranged on the floor in exotic patterns, spilled just so by Ms. Daisy herself.
🍌 Thermometer & Plastic Ball Garnish on Wet Food — With a side of banana, because presentation is everything.

💔🌈 Remembering Mimi 🌈💔

Today, our hearts are heavy as we share that sweet Mimi has crossed the rainbow bridge. Earlier this week, she visited the vet, and it was clear that her decline would be swift. Her loving foster parent bravely stayed by her side, offering comfort and love in her final moments. Mimi passed away peacefully in her foster’s arms on June 26, just minutes before she was due to see the vet one last time.

Mimi joined Kawakuji on April 6th, 2023. We were told then that she might only have a month or two left. Instead, she was given over two beautiful years of life, safe, warm, and cherished beyond measure. We believe with all our hearts that the love and kindness she received made every one of those days possible.

This gentle girl spent her last years as she deserved: indoors, surrounded by care, never having to wonder if she was loved. Her foster parent showed her what it means to be part of a family and gave her the greatest gift of all: a peaceful goodbye held close by someone who loved her dearly.

To everyone who followed Mimi’s story, sent encouragement, donated, and supported her journey, thank you. Your compassion gave her a life she might never have known. As we mourn, we also look ahead with gratitude, knowing your support will help us keep giving second chances to the next generation of cats who need us most. 💕

🌼🐾 Dandy the Snugglebug! 🐾🌼

Dandelion, or Dandy as we lovingly call him, is still holding out hope for a forever family 🌟💛 This sweet boy is a pro at cuddles and will happily curl up on your lap or ride around on your shoulders like a tiny purring parrot 🐱💕

But don’t be fooled, Dandy’s not just a people-cat! He absolutely adores other cats and thrives with feline company 🐾😽 Whether it’s his siblings, foster friends, or new acquaintances, he always wants a buddy to wrestle, groom, and nap with 💤🐈‍⬛

For this reason, Dandy is looking for a forever home that already has a cat waiting to welcome him, or one where he can be adopted with another kitty 💞🐾 He’s got so much love to give and he’s happiest when he can share it with both humans and fellow cats ❤️🐱

She’s still finishing up her quarantine, but she already has endless energy and SO much love to give! 🎉🐾 Whether she’s zooming around her space or curling up for a snuggle, Nozomi brings light and laughter wherever she goes 🥰✨

🐾🌟 Welcome Nozomi! 🌟🐾

Say hello to Nozomi, the newest little warrior at Kawakuji Rescue! 💖🐱 This brave girl is the sole survivor of her litter and has already overcome so much. She’s recovering from a severe eye infection and, despite being small for her age, she’s bursting with determination and love for life! 💪🍼🐾

Nozomi has just started her quarantine period, where she’ll be getting lots of TLC, nutritious food, and gentle care to help her grow strong and healthy. 🛏️💗🧼 Though she’s not quite ready for adoption yet, we’re already smitten with her resilience and sweet nature!

It’ll be at least a month before she’s ready to start her next chapter, but in the meantime we’ll be sharing updates as she continues to heal and thrive. 🌼📸 Stay tuned to watch this little miracle blossom into the happy, healthy kitten she’s meant to be!

🐾💖 A New Adventure Begins 💖🐾

Today was a big day for Maple and Poppy: their adoption day! 🌟🐱 These brave brothers left their mama for the very first time and stepped paw-first into their brand new lives. It didn’t take long for their sweet and silly personalities to shine! 🎉🐾🎈

They instantly took to their new family, running and leaping through the house with joyful energy 🏡💨💞 Toys were chased, zoomies were had, and little purrs filled every room. Their bond was clear as they tumbled around together before finally collapsing into a cozy nap in their new humans’ arms 🛌🧸💕

We couldn’t have asked for a better match for these two growing boys. Watching them snuggled up, safe and sound, is exactly why we do what we do 💗🐾🌈 Thank you to their new family for opening your hearts and home to this wonderful duo!
