‼️Closed Until Further Notice, Howl is receiving treatment for possible Lepto and we will be closing our calendars until he is medically clear‼️
Wanted to make awareness post for fellow dog parents! ⚠️
We took our 3 year old German Shepard to Tataki Waterfalls last weekend, and had to admit him to ER yesterday morning with possible Lepto. (We’re still waiting on results but he’s receiving treatment just as percaution because of symptoms)
He’s fully vaccinated (his last combo vaccine was 2 months ago) but the vet told us there are strains not covered by vaccine. The added danger is that symptoms sometimes don’t show from 48 hours to 1-2 weeks later, and can also transmit to people. So it’s important to get checked yourself too.
