ＫＩＴＴＥ大阪で行われている「KITTE OSAKA FIRST CHRISTMAS」に展開中のインスタレーション「Linear Symphony」。本日が最終日となりました。
1Fアトリウム広場に、吹き抜けの天井から大きなドレープが垂れ下がる「Linear Symphony」。生命のエネルギーが集まり、交わり、繋がり、活動的に動き自然な流動が起きている様をあらわしています。吹き抜けの約1万㎥という広大な空間に展開されていますが、ファブリックは巻き取るととてもコンパクトに収納されます。構成した空間に対して少量の材料で、かつ使用された素材はリサイクル可能な素材となっています。
さらに、「愛」のエネルギーを込めたハートのモニュメント「Merging Hearts」も制作しました。３色のファブリックが混じりあい編み込まれたハートのモニュメントは、感情や生命のエネルギーの集合を表現しています。

2021年9月に参加したMilan Design Week2021の映像が完成しました。軍事病院跡地を会場としたAlcovaでのインスタレーション「Much Peace, Love and Joy」は、ミラノの光を受けて美しい色のひろがりをみせました。
世界中の渡航が難しい状態の中でも、来場者数55,000人という結果となりました。約1,200枚の色の断片を浮遊するかのように設置した「Much Peace, Love and Joy」、メッシュ素材にウイルス抑制新技術を組み合わせた「Mesh Virus-Control Flag Partition」の展示のようすを映像でご覧いただけます。

MIDTOWN CHRISTMAS 2021「Color Jungle」
秋の展示祭り4連発の大トリ4つ目！
東京ミッドタウン「MIDTOWN CHRISTMAS 2021」にて大型インスタレーションが公開です。館内の3つの吹き抜けを全て用い、SPREADの展示でも最大規模となる約8万㎥にわたりインスタレーション作品「Color Jungle」が設置されています。
わたしたちは今、先が見えないいくつもの課題が積み重なる時代の変わり目を生きています。このお話を伺ったとき、2021年の終わりを飾るクリスマスシーズンの訪れを祝祭したいと心から想いました。
伝えたいのは 変わらず、「色は喜び」です。 森・水・光それぞれの流れに見立てた景色を、広大な3つの吹き抜けエリアに彩りました。3階から地下1階まで高さの変わる視線からは、空を飛ぶ鳥になったかのような想像が広がります。色を見たときに一人一人の内面から湧き上がる喜びがあります。そして、喜びは希望です。色鮮やかなジャングルに迷い込んだような、躍動的な景色をこ体感ください。

Spread Tokyo at ALCOVA 2021
SPREAD is a creative unit established by Haruna Yamada and Hirokazu Kobayashi. By fusing landscape desi-gn thoughts capturing the environment over a long period of time with graphic design techniques convey vivid visual impressions, they exhibit two works.
1. “Much Peace, Love and Joy”
By special letterpress printing, inimitable gradations are printed with vivid colors, and the printed matter is then hand-tore into pieces all with its unique shape. The work is then composed by accumulating a huge number of those pieces. The accumulation of gradient fragments is a metaphor for existence, situations, and perspectives. It arouses energy and imagination for the future when viewers visualize their own sto- nes, lands, drift ice, lives, and souls.
2. “Mesh Virus-Control Flag Partition”
A new item to color the space by fusing the joy of colors and the new virus-suppressing technology. The use of polyester mesh is adopted- it’s also used as a filter in the medical field. With the attachment of nanoparticles produced in a new technology that can suppress viruses and bacteria by 99.9%, it helps to sanitize and prevent droplet infection. The vitality of colors fills the space with joy and creates a new life- style for easy but safe communication.

Much Peace, Love and Joy by SPREAD
at ALCOVA, Milan Design Week 2021
The creative unit Spread will hold an exhibition titled “Much Peace, Love and Joy by Spread” at the Alcova design platform during Milan design week 2021 (Milan, Italy) from Saturday, September 4 to Sunday, September 12, 2021.
Spread is a creative unit founded by Haruna Yamada and Hirokazu Kobayashi that fuses the long-sighted environmental approach of landscape design with the vivid visual techniques of graphic design. Characterized
by their emphasis on color and concept, Spread engages in creative direction and design for graphics, products, and exhibitions, becoming intimately involved in each project. Spread’s works expand the imagination by deconstructing and reconstructing memory from color. From client work to independent projects such as “Life Stripe” (an ongoing piece begun in 2004 that records people’s daily activities as a pattern of colored stripes) and original research in the pursuit of new ideas for thinking about the future, all of Spread’s creative activities are fundamentally social-minded.
This year, Milan design week returns after a one-year postponement due to COVID-19. Ahead of their upcoming Tokyo solo exhibition scheduled for this autumn (“Spread by Spread”), Spread will present two works under the theme “color is the accumulation of joy”: “Much Peace, Love and Joy” and “Mesh Virus-Control Flag Partition.”
Spread’s works will be shown at the Alcova art and design platform’s new location in the Inganni district of Milan. The 4000-square-meter site features a cluster of historic 19th-century buildings immersed in a large, old urban park. Spread will present two site-specific installations in the largest exhibition space—a 650-square-meter outdoor area covered in plants and trees.
