When a male and female dog get stuck together during mating , it's called “copulatory tie” or “lock”.

The “copulatory tie” occurs when the bulbus glandis , an erectile tissue structure located at the base of a male dog’s p***s, engorges with blood. This happens just after the male-dog inserts its p***s into the female’s va**na and it begins to thrust. The bulbous glands swell quickly and form a spherical enlargement, twice the diameter of the shaft of the p***s.

The circular muscles located just inside the female’s va**na, called the constrictor vestibule muscles, contract against the bulbous glands, completing the lock and preventing the p***s from being withdrawn. The two dogs are now tied jointly.

Glaxxy in (Fungal Pneumonia):

1.Etiology:

The fungus causing Aspergillosis in poultry is Aspergillus fumigatus

2.Transmission:

Transmission is by inhalation of fungus spores from contaminated litter (e.g. wood shavings, straw) or contaminated feed. Hatcheries may also contribute to infection of the chicks.

3.Epidemiology:

Young chickens are very susceptible. Older chickens are more resistant to infection. Turkey poults, pheasants, quails, ducklings, and goslings
may also become infected.

4.Clinical Signs:

Infected chickens show signs of:
💉Depression and thirsty.
💉Gasping and rapid breathing can be observed.
💉Fever.
💉Inappetence.
💉Emaciation.
💉Mortality is variable, from 5 to 50%.
💉Gross lesions involve the lungs and airsacs primarily.
💉Yellow-white pin head sized lesions can be found.
💉Sometimes all body cavities are filled with small yellow-green granular fungus growth.

5.Diagnosis:

The presence of Aspergillus fumigatus can be identified microscopically or sometimes even with the naked eye in the air passages of the lungs, in the airsacs or in lesions of the abdominal cavity. Aspergillosis can be confirmed by isolation and identification of the fungus from lesions.

6.Treatment:

💉 No specific treatment available.

💉spontaneous recovery if re exposure is prevented

7.Control:

⭕Removing the birds from contaminated area.

⭕Removing infected birds from the flock.

⭕Removing contaminated materials.

⭕Increase ventilation and air exchange.

▪️ Babesiosis is a protozoal tick-born disease characterized by extensive intravascular hemolysis leading to depression, anemia, icterus, hemoglobinuria, and in the case of B. bovis infections neurological signs

⇨ Cattle and buffaloes
⇨ Sheep and goats

⇨ Calves have a degree of immunity that persists for 6 month
⇨ Animals that recover from Babesia infections are generally immune for their commercial life (4 yr),

⇨ Transmitted by ticks
⇨ In ticks, transovarial transmission occurs
⇨ Other routes of minor importance
⇨ Direct inoculation of blood
⇨ Biting flies and contaminated fomites
⇨ In utero infection (rare event).

☁︎𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀

⇨ Acute disease for 3 to 7 days

▪️Fever >40° C (104-107° F)
▪️Sometimes also observed Abortion
▪️Urine is dark red to brown in color
▪️ Hemoglobinuria is also known as Redwater (not present in all cases in B. bovis infection)
▪️Anemia and jaundice (prolonged and severe cases)
▪️ Photosensitization
▪️In B. bovis infection neurologic signs such as seizures, hyperesthesia, and paralysis seen
▪️ Death

➪Subacute case:

▪️It is associated with B. divergens is similar to that of B. bovis
▪️ Seen in young cows and mild fever
▪️ Hemoglobinuria is absent
▪️There is spasm of the a**l sphincter, causing the passage of faeces with great force in a long, thin stream known as “pipe-stem” f***s.

𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁💉

▪️ Drugs of choice diminazene aceturate, imidocarb dipropionate, amicarbalide diisethionate, and phenamidine have been used against Babesia.
▪️Diminazene aceturate @ 3.5 - 7 mg/kg deep I/M once.
▪️Give other supportive treatment
