Momz makes a bug pot of broth. She boils chicken bones and beef bones. She has to skim off all the fat when it's cooked. She then boils my barley in it and then adds green veges and meat. It's yummz. EXCITED!!!!!
TODAY MARKS THE BEGINNING OF ANEW MONTH. I HAVE MADE IT THROUGH TWO MONTHS SINCE I GOT DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES.
Because I cannot eat cake , momz and dadz took me on a long drive in the car. I loves car ridez.

Lookz. I have started playing with my brothers and sister. I'm getting betterz everyday. I have lots of energy now. I can eatz my mealz very well. Auntie Salome Tarus and uncle Tito Patrick Kibiego , I loves the food. Momz mixes it with some meatz. You see I am even learningz to play!!!
I was once a healthy pupz. But i guess nobody noticed the symptoms of my condition.
When my momz got adopted me, she thought I was just blind. But when I started getting weaker by the day and vomiting and i mean vomiting. I couldn't keep water down then she found it strange. She rushed me to hospital that day. That was Day 5 in my diary. I am glad momz made that decision . That was my saving grace.
People keep asking how you know if a dog has diabetes.
The following symptoms could be indicators that your dog has diabetes:
Change in appetite
Excessive thirst/increase in water consumption
Weight loss(Anorexia even with normal feeding)
Increased urination
Unusually sweet-smelling or fruity breath
Lethargy
Dehydration
Urinary tract infections
Vomiting
Cataract formation, blindness
Chronic skin infections
Development of Ketoacidosis ( metabolic acidosis caused by the breakdown of fat and proteins in the liver in response to insulin deficiency)
Enlarged liver
Cataracts
Bladder or kidney infection
If your furbaby is showing any of the clinical signs listed above, please consult your vet right away.
In order to properly diagnose diabetes, your vet will collect information about your furbaby's clinical signs, perform a physical examination and check blood work and a urinalysis.
Momz says "always get a second opinion".

So momz and I want to be sharing with you information about my condition.
I have diabetes. Type 1 diabetes. It's the most common in canines (dogs).
My pancreas is incapable of producing or secreting adequate levels of insulin.
I require insulin therapy to survive.
When I was younger nobody knew I was diabetic. Thank God my momz adopted me. I was almost dying. Momz and dadz took me to different vets and thank God they always seeks second and third opinions. momz and dadz never gave up. Dr. Imran North Kenya Veterinary Services diagnosed diabetes and saved my life.
Diabetes can be caused by autoimmune disease, genetics, obesity, chronic pancreatitis, certain medications and abnormal protein deposits in the pancreas can play a major role in the development of the disease.
As you can see, I am doing much betterz. Join me in my journey as we travel the road of a sugar baby. It might save one of yours one day.

I feel much better. I am not sleeping alot now. I have tons of energy. Momz was wondering how to keep me busy. So she got me 'best buddie' . She told me not to beheadz him or amputate him because he has raised all her dogs. So i agreed . When I got him I growled and shook him. But i keepz my word and didn't beheadz him. Momz fun. She takes care of me and cares. I've gotta go sleepz. My auntie @akenyangirl is visitz tomorrow. puppy kisses to you all and your furbabies.

Today was a good day. Momz has new friends on a page. They have dogs like me and they are really helping g momz learn everything about the 'betes. Tonight momz made me a special dinner. Momz cooked pearl barley and kale and boiled chicken for me. Because I finished my food she rewarded me with a chew bone. See how strong I am!!!? I have to go sleep because tomorrow I go to visit Dr. Imran. Goodnight.

Today was a fun day. I was fullz of energy. I told you I would chase birdz. You see! I did! I cannot see them but I can hear them and smellz them with my smellavision. Momz is doing a good job taking care of me. I lovez her. It's abit tough . I don't likez the shots she gives me every morning and evening. Sometimes i snapz at her. I feel bad been I do because I loves her. The shots are not painful. I just don't likez them. Momz worries because she doesn't want me to get stressed. Momz is trying to figure a way to give me the shot better. I know momz will eventually find an easy way that's comfortable for both of us. If you have a tip to help my momz give me the shots easily let her know. Have a great weekendz. Aaaarffff!!!!
