🐾 TIPS FOR A PET SAFE NEW YEAR 🐾

🥳For those who are staying in Siem Reap, New Year amazing! There is so much life happening in town!
We’ve made a few tips and heads-ups for you to help your pets have a stress-free time.

💦 PREPARE FOR FIREWORKS
This means keeping pets securely indoors, having access to a safety den or bed. We recommend making a comfy space behind a sofa or under a table, with blankets over the top. Playing music. Tiring them out before the evening with either a long walk, or a lot of playtime/mental stimulation.

💦WEARING A COLLAR
Unfortunately with stress, your pet may want to get out of the house. Make sure your pets have got collars on for easy identification. You can message for custom pet tags.

💦AVOID THE CROWDS
Riverside and downtown will be packed all over new year. Some people may be scared of dogs, or not know how to correctly behave around a dog. Also, some pets don’t do well in crowds. We recommend avoiding this area over the new year when with pets.

💦 MORE TRAFFIC
Thousands of people will come to celebrate in town. There be many more motors and cars than usual. People are also on holiday, so may be unfamiliar with the roads, or be enjoying a drink before driving. We suggest avoiding busy roads and peak hours (everything after the morning).

💦 WATER AND FLOUR
Very fun for everyone involved, however your pet will probably not appreciate a covering when you’re on your walk. Avoid areas where people are celebrating.

💦 FOOD AND LITTER
After new year you may want to enjoy riverside walks once again. Be mindful of leftover food, bones and litter that may affect your walk.

💦 if your pet is subject to anxiety, or stress, we would recommend speaking to your vet and see if there’s anything they would suggest.

New Year is our favourite time of the year! And we can’t wait to celebrate it with you all 🥳

We are still taking bookings for the New Year, however space is quickly filling up! Make sure you message us as soon as possible to secure your bookings. Any new bookings made after April 5th will have a $10 late fee just for the holiday period 🙏

Are you feeding cats and dogs along your travels? 🎒

Animals of Our World started with our co-founders feeding strays along their journey.

Whilst you're traveling, we highly recommend you carry cat/dog kibble in your backpack.

You will definitely run into hungry strays along your journey and this simple act of kindness, could be their only easy meal of their day/week.

But it's IMPORTANT to remember that once you have left, those animals you have been feeding will look for you if you've gained their trust.

ONLY feed at a distance and allow them to eat the food they have found.

The next people they meet, might not be as kind.

Protect them by not showing them something they've never experienced - human love.
