تعتمد العلامات التجارية الكبرى على حيوانات معدّلة وراثيًا، تُربّى في واقع مصطنع، تُغذّى بأنظمة غير صحية، وتُحقن دوريًا بالمضادات الحيوية لتسريع النمو.

وبينما نستهلك، نجد أنفسنا داعمين غير مباشرين لأبشع أشكال القسوة ضد الحيوانات غير البشرية.
