I received a hedgehog with dermatological symptoms, mainly loss of spines and crusty flakey skin. Upon clinical and microscope examination, I determined that it's mange (sarcoptic mange) and administered the proper treatment.

It's been quite a gruesome year for me, full of trials and tribulations, and no small amount of setbacks, however I kept pushing through and I finally managed to get my master's degree in veterinary nutrition, possibly becoming the very first professional Lebanese vet nutritionist!

Throwback to Beirut days, and the unfortunate hunting season.
Buzzards (like this common buzzard) are annual migrators between Africa and Europe, and Lebanon serves as a pitstop. However illegal hunting over the years has decimated their numbers, and we receive hundreds of birds every year. The most common injuries we see are broken wings (ulna-radius) and head traumas.
it is our solemn duty as veterinarians to take care of these animals to the best of our capabilities.
Shoutout to Lebanese Wildlife for their vigilance and efforts.
