2023-2024 year, we’ve worked together to make a real impact repairing and cleaning cattle sheds, lending our "VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS " Program at Udawalawa Elephant Transit Home, and organizing numerous animal welfare initiatives.

Let’s advocate for policies and initiatives that prioritize both human progress and the protection of these majestic creatures. It’s time to act before more lives are lost."

A field session was organized by Animal Welfare Society - University of Ruhuna to clean the shed and groom the cattle in the faculty farm.
The main objective of the session was to aware the students and the farming community about the five freedom concept of animal welfare.
This session was guided by the Patron of the Animal Welfare Society, Prof. (Mrs.) Dulcy Senartna.

Spare a Thought for Animals This New Year!!!

A festival of lights can be the worst day of Animals' life.
Animals are prone to anxiety due to noice, smoke and fireworks!!!
They can get injured, stress due to noice .

*What we can do is,
• Avoid lightning of crackers as much as possible
• Do not light crackers near stray animals.
• Keep pets indoors

We need to be more compassionate towards animals. Don't treat animals as animals but living beings. That's what they are! Sri Lanka hasn't sound legal framework to protect animals and hence animals are abused.
We utterly deplore animal violation.
